you guys aren't exactly persuading me to think otherwise. let's look at the disadvantages of TV

cons: everything is on a schedule so you have to wait for shows. tv is not interactive. there's a lot of stuff that isn't on tv anymore or is not on in your area

pros of the internet: if you want to watch it, you just have to find it- easy as ****. everything is practically instant except for long downloads. there are tons of shows on the internet that are not on tv anymore and will never be again. the internet is interactive and far more educational than tv

i'm not saying you should not watch tv. if that's what you want to do then do it. i'm saying there are so many more advantages to watching shows and movies over the internet than on tv

Those are some good arguments. However, TV network tight asses executives don't judge rating by internet views, it is by television. More people were watching Community online ans it almost got cancelled. More people were watching Chuck online, and IT DID get cancelled.

You're right everything on TV is scheduled. TWC (time warner cable) tried to counter that with "On Demand" but I've seen there list, when TWC feels like putting it "On Demand" consumers can watch it whenever.

I still believe that the only thing holding off the internet from TV dominance is local news and live sports.

i suppose. personally, i think it should all be moved to the internet. also i have a firm belief that by 2030, tv will be entirely dead and the internet will rule all. i just wish that would happen faster. tv isn't like radio where it still has good uses like weather warnings in rural areas and for science, it's just a a thing for people to watch stuff on, and the internet can do it's job so much better

2030 yea seems like a good year. It will all depend on cable companies. My family tried to get rid of be free from TWC but those assholes bundle everything! We just wanted internet, but them only providing internet cost $85 a month plus taxes, which put us back at near $120ish. We wouldn't be saving money.

By 2030 there needs to be better TVs with internet access with a full blown browser (not IE).
