vixenmacabre (07/29/2012) [-] I think the people who say things like that to disabled people are really saying they mean she's beautiful in her PERSONALITY because of how strong she seems in the face of her situation. The girls (they are usually pretty girls) who say 'she's beautiful' etc are simply in awe that someone could go through life still being happy and not looking like a barbie doll, just because they feel they couldn't live without their looks. They're amazed by the strength that some of the people with disabilities display because they imagine looking that way even though their whole life they've probably been gorgeous and airheaded - they haven't needed to be strong, their good looks have gotten them through life so they can't fathom having to be as mentally strong as people like Adalia Rose. They just don't realise how to express it fully so it comes as 'OMG YOU'RE LIEK GORGEOUS OKAY XXX'.

I watched a documentary about people having these type of disease...
they put a hidden camera pointing to two person who don't know each other with such illness... surprisingly, they talked about death, what they want to do before dying, what they want to experience before dying, how will they make their love ones happy before they'll be dying... I cried, 10 year old people talking about death already and how they could live their life to the fullest up to 15.

No special treatment, no being told beautiful when they know for a fact that they aren't. They just want to be treated normally so they can feel they are normal.

BUT those people having their pictures spread everywhere don't ordinarily like that, they try to live a normal life and people with their fake comments who are really trying to make themselves feel better are doing the opposite.
I kid you not, most of those goddamned pictures get 22,000 comments all saying -omg so beautiful- and if you did deep enough you may find one intelligent person telling them all to shut the fuck up.

Nameloc ONLINE (07/29/2012) [-] To be honest whenever I come across someone with an obvious disability, I remember that it's the differences that make them stand out, and treat them normally unlike a lot of other people... Everyone is different, it's just that those with certain disabilities show their differences in different ways. It's fear of the unkown* that make people act so weird around people with disabilities.
(Unknown being what exact disability they have, and most people completely over-look the whole thing of them being the same as us.)
