Most Wal*Marts and similar stores have them in the hunting/gun/camping section of the store. It's only about 10 dollars at my local one but God is it a great knife. The also sell tomahawks, and finger saws in the same area. It's my go to place if the zombies attack.

If they didn't get off the parachute before they got to the water it is quite easy to drown since the parachute will just drag them down.

Not only is the rope keeping them at a safe height, so if it was cut, they would go upwards for quite a distance, depending on wind. But, also, there is land not too far from them
