I don't know why either. Most Americans middle-low class will never see Europe, so I don't see the reason to learn all the cultures myself. The comment was mainly to point out the ignorance of comments like #1435. He thinks that OP is American and gets thumbs for calling OP a failure for not realizing why people hate America, then people tell him the real joke and he still gets thumbs for making the same mistake the person in the comic made.

klondikemonster (07/26/2012) [-] I think the primary reason that many people in the U.S. can't tell the difference between flags is simply because we're not surrounded by a large multitude of nations that work under the same primary currency.
And although we're still involved in the same politics as most of the countries, our citizens just aren't, basically we have Canada and Mexico. Most Europeans that I know can tell the difference between flags and people very well simply because all of those countries are just a short (or long, depending on the trip) drive away.
But, you know, that's just how I think of it

america is at war for as long as i can remember and they certainly convinced other countries to sell their oil or other resources(like gold) for shitty shitty prices. america is a powerful country but corrupt to the core and that's not good for the small weaker countries
