This happened right after the housing update. You could build your own house, and a special feature of it was, you could have an area where players could attack eachother. So, this one guy, (I don't remember his name) was having a massive house party to celebrate being one of the first people to get lvl 99 house making. So these other people who showed up at this party discovered a glitch. If too many people get kicked out of your house while in the PvP area, they retain the ability to attack people. So, a shit load of people got kicked out to Fally, where they began massacring people. Mods and noobs alike. They supposedly went towards Varrock (if that's the name. It's been a long time since I've played that game), and I'm not sure what happened after that.

It was quite the big deal at the time though. Like I said, there's a video of it down there, if you want to check that out.
