"And this is why i was shooting Mexicans over the border" was one i saw.
Except they never took the hose away... so in this case, that tradition that they didn't understand was still perfectly valid...

But if you could communicate with them on such a level they would be able to precieve the other monkeys leaving, have the ability to think and would then question the beatings with one another. Coming to the decision themselves.
MY conclusion: don't trust monkeys, Planet of the Apes could always happen.

In the original, the final caption simply reads: "This ladies and gentlemen, is how business works!"
-And that's why I was shooting mexicans down at the border, your honor

This still implies that there has a to be a beginning event that made the monkeys afraid to climb the ladder... What you're implying is that there still was an event in ancient times that led to the belief of the religion. I don't think that's what you meant in your post.
i think he means stupid shit like jews not eating pork. That means at one point someone ate some bad pork and died so everybody else decided it was against gods will. And there doesn't necessarily have to be an event that makes people not do something, something like a generated belief can make people do things. Nazis got an entire country to murder millions of people and be completely cool with it.

hmm. That's a good point, but I highly doubt that the poster of the original comment thought through that. I just hate when people use over used jokes in the comment section and everyone thumbs it up... Like on 9/11 posts where people comment and say . "That's just PLANE wrong" and they'll get like 30 thumbs... sigh... didn't mean to go on a rant....
