So what did you guys think of the first episode of the new season of Arrow? I personally liked it and think the rest of the season will be pretty badass.
User avatar #15448 to #15431 - eight (10/10/2013) [-]
It was good. Always enjoyed Arrow. Not sure I like the "keep them alive" aspect though. I liked that Arrow was always a little bit ruthless.
User avatar #15449 to #15448 - mrtowelman (10/10/2013) [-]
Yeah, that was a bit off for what the first season was like. I'm hoping it's something that I will either get used to or they can find a way to make it work better. But ye, super pumped for the rest of the season.

Still waiting for the reveal to his mom, his sister and of course, Laurel. Hell I am even curious about Walter's reaction, although I think he knows on some level.

Why do you?
#15624 to #15623 - erano (10/16/2013) [-]
Why do you think that Walk knows?
User avatar #15625 to #15624 - eight (10/16/2013) [-]
Because Walter is very smart. He has been saved by Oliver (I think as both Arrow form and regular), he knows Oliver has been up to something. He must know the vigilante resurfaces every time Oliver is around. And I think he knows Felicity knows the vigilante and he sees that Oliver is friends with Felicity.

I don't know though.
#15626 to #15625 - erano (10/16/2013) [-]
You make a fine argument and I am inclined to agree with you, especially with the remark he made in the season 2 premier.
User avatar #15627 to #15626 - eight (10/16/2013) [-]
What did he say, maybe that was what triggered my suspicions?
#15628 to #15627 - erano (10/16/2013) [-]
Unsure of the exact words but he asked Felicia after the hoods attacked the meeting about their friend the vigilante and is he back yet. Then looked at Oli.
User avatar #15629 to #15628 - eight (10/16/2013) [-]

ITT: Movies that aren't meant to be funny, but you find really funny.

This happens a lot with horror movies for me. The Exorcist (But its old so it makes sense, same with House on Haunted Hill.), certain parts in the Paranormal Activity movies, 2 and 4 mostly and many more, like recently, a movie I don't remember the name of. (The premise was a dude move sinto a new house with his family, finds some tapes, they're nice and happy until people die, they all have fucking HILARIOUS names. Dude does research on the tapes, writes some books, ASSHOLE COP and the wife gets maximum pissed. Also spooky children.)

Aforementioned movie, for example. One point,a spooky ghost kid, completely silent, is on the table behind the guy. And he doesn't notice. And it starts walking like a fucking retarded fat person off the table, STILL TOTALLY SILENT. It was fucking amazing. In Paranormal Activity 2, when the baby is just slowly lifted out of the crib. Paranormal activity 4, the way the crazy bitch WALKS at the end toward whatever the chicks name was. It's like this fucked up half sprint half power walk with a dead serious face. Then she PUNCHES A HOLE THROUGH THE DOOR.

I love horror movies for many reasons, some of which are probably the wrong reasons.

User avatar #15405 to #15398 - eight (10/08/2013) [-]
The movie claims it is 'Based on a true story'.

The movie is about an event and real family that claims they actually went through that experience. There have been several books written about it this event by different people including Ed and Lorraine Warren. The surviving family members agree that the film is fairly accurate.

It is trying to be a bit more than just a ghost movie. And the amount of people who now believe this story is true after the movie has been made is astounding.
User avatar #15406 to #15405 - herecomesjohnny (10/08/2013) [-]
i saw it with friends and i don't know a single person that went "shit, must be true!"
the whole 'based on a true story' thing is just like the Strangers or whatnot, where they insist on that to simply give more chills. you're kinda surprising me with the whole "people are believing a movie'' thing, but hey some people
User avatar #15407 to #15406 - eight (10/08/2013) [-]
Just go to the IMDB boards for the movie. Or read the comments in articles surrounding the movie. I guess this move has brought the kooks out much like Amityville Horror did or The Haunting In Connecticut which are all based around "true stories". But damn, there are a hell of a lot of kooks.

There are even people defending the Annabelle the Doll story (The one possessed in the movie).

I personally know one person that does believe it and it was a big debate between us, that nor surprisingly was not resolved.

I've been following this movie The Prototype for a couple of years now (I think. I can't remember when I first heard about it, but I think it was summer '11). The trailer was originally just a proof-of-concept, but then it got funded or something and is supposedly coming out this year (IMDB lists the year of release as 2013). I've been waiting a while for it, so if anyone has information on it whatsoever, please, share your wealth of knowledge with everyone.

No, it's not based on the game.

Well to be fair, it could be. I thought it could be until I saw the trailer
User avatar #15468 to #15466 - thedudeistheman (10/11/2013) [-]
I was just playing off the fact that, after having said it wasn't based on the game, somebody asked if it was based off the game.

The trailer is really cool. It got released a while ago (for some reason I always think it was released in 2011 but it was released in 2012). The IMDB page was updated on June 12 of this year, and both IMDB and Wikipedia say the film is in pre-production, but Google says the initial release is in 2013 (Google is sometimes wrong with release dates though. Not a lot, but enough for it to be considered).
User avatar #15470 to #15468 - doublicious (10/11/2013) [-]
Oh wow I didn't even notice you said that at the end of your comment

Idk if they still don't have an exact release date, I doubt it will come out in 2013
User avatar #15471 to #15470 - thedudeistheman (10/11/2013) [-]
I'm doubtful too, especially considering it's in pre-production. 2014, or even 2015, is more likely.

Hey, just a little thought here.
You know this mother fucker right? Like how's he's completely retarded?

What if he wasn't? What if he was the most intelligent being in the universe? What if he's so smart he can actually see alternate universes? But he has trouble telling them apart, so all his non-sequiturs were actually him reacting to the teeming multitude of almost incomprehensible data.
I mean, in one episode he did get poach for some famous paper. And in a couple of episodes he's actually been the sane man, pointing out the stupidity of other characters (like the one where he said something about a cow.... I really don't remember at the moment), so he's obviously extremely preceptive when he needs to be.
And a lot of his lines are rather perceptive, but just a little confused, almost like someone that forgot which rules this reality plays by.

Bow before your god and glorious majesty!
