i'm pretty sure plants aren't immortal. sure, there are some that live for fucktons of time (the oldest being the Pando at 80,000 years old) but they still have a lifespan. take annual plants. they die every year.
just because plants can live 10,000 or more years, doesn't mean they live forever as there's no way to prove that. it is all speculation

plants are biologically immortals.
if you put a plant in an ottimal condition (ground with the right pH, enough water, right temperature, no dangerous insects/bacteria etc. and you make this parameters last forever, the plant will live forever.
this because plants regenerates their parts (if someone cuts your head you will die, if someone cuts the top of a plant il will still grow).
annual plants can't bear cold/heat so they die annually.
that's all, folks!

and i still don't think you can call them immortal because giving them perfect conditions and making those conditions last infinitely is physically impossible. one way or another it's going to die eventually.
i could use the same argument for humans. even though we don't regrow all of our parts and regenerate, you could put someone in cryo-stasis and preserve them. now if you do that for an infinite amount of time and manage to keep them alive that whole time, then wouldn't they be immortal as well?
TL:DR humans are no more immortal than plants. to make them last longer than their natural lifespan takes attention and resources. it is physically impossible to make either of them live for an infinite amount of time under these optimal conditions because you cannot maintain these conditions for an infinite amount of time.

no, you are wrong. Immortal means you can not die and you dont live forever.
