Question: Did anyone else notice that Uncle Ben never said "With great power comes great responsibility"? That was the only thing that bothered me upon immediately leaving the theater.
Marc said because it would be too cheesy and overkilled. He said "If they're things you can do to help people, its your responsibility to do those things." Which imo is more gripping. Btw this is the first Amazing SM post to make frontpage.

Well, I'm not saying it was a huge deal and the movie was ruined for not including it. The movie was awesome, but with all the excitement I had built up before watching it, I guess my jimmies were a little rustled for a brief period of time when I noticed.

I fucking hate it when people do that. It should go under false advertisement.
Where the fuck is my goddamn Deadpool movie? Hollywood better get its fucking act together.

At least then you wont get to see the entire story of the movie in the trailer
I thought the idea of having scenes in a trailer being seperate from a movie was a good idea, as long as it doesn't have much more effort than the actual movie.
I kind of liked the original trilogy's Parker better, but I think that'll change overtime with this one. Spiderman's finally a jokester, and that's a trait that's always made Spiderman my favorite comic book hero.
By the way; why's everyone saying this movie is closer to the comics? Yeah, they finally got rid of the web glands (which always bothered me in the 1st trilogy) but there was a LOT of other differences like Kurt Connors never being apart of Oscorp in the comics, as opposed to the movie.

*spoiler*
Yeah but there's a lot more differences including the point in time Gwen's father dies and how Gwen reacts to it, plus the fact she even knows Parker's identity at all.
I'm not complaining about it, I'm all for differences when it's done properly and doesn't stomp on the true character's persona, I just wanted to point it out.

Yeah, the one thing that kinda gripes me about this Parker is he's way too cocky, which is something I always argue about when people say how close it is to the comics.
Parker was always calm collected and cool when the mask was off. Months, or even years would've gone by before he'd even consider revealing his identity, and he never did, despite all the emotional rollercoaster he had to endure all that time.
This one just straight up does it in a few weeks into the relationship.

A little unrelated but I just watched the second movie and something was odd, doc ock is just a regular guy with special arms. Spiderman has super strength, how does doc not get killed by one super powered punch by spidey
The Amazing Spiderman movie is based on the Amazing Spiderman comicbook universe, and it's pretty close. His parents leaving due to secrets, him developing his own webshooters, falling in love with Gwen Stacy... It's my new favorite movie. But also the guy who made Paranormal Activity 3 put false scenes in the trailer so you wouldn't know what was coming. Smart idea, i think
Not as good as that asshole Roland Emmerich who essentially used one scene from the movie and posted it everywhere. Like for Godzilla 1998 did the scene where he first stomped into central park, 2012 had the scene where that tibetan monastery was flooded by the pacific ocean, or how Independence day ads always blew up the white house.
I thought they changed quite a few things, little things like Kurt Connors being involved in Oscorp, or Uncle Ben's killer having a star tattoo on his wrist, as well as more blatant as what happens to the Gwen's father (which I won't say for obvious reasons)
Either way, I kind of like an adaptation that changes up things. Makes it less predictable for those who've read the comics.

I fucking loved the film. Better than the first and third ones. I love the first but this was still better. Nothing has beaten Spiderman 2 yet though.
Too many plot holes. Lizard man's design was bad. Peter Parker and Spiderman were the same person, as opposed to the better iterations where Parker is a loner and Spiderman is the brash one. It tried to be gritty like Nolan, but the cheesy parts were cheesier than Raimi's, but without the fun.
It seems some of you want me to explain the plot holes. Well here's a big one, and spoilers for those who haven't watched it yet.
How the hell does he get down from the tower at the end when his web is destroyed, and they established in an earlier scene that he cannot climb on the glass?

That doesn't matter, as the movie was no better or worse for not having that. If you want to go there I can complain about how Gwen never knew about Spiderman, or how the Captain wasn't killed by Lizard Man, but as long as they make a good interpretation, I don't care.
After all, I love how stupidly cheesy the first Spiderman is, and I'm not complaining about the lack of Gwen and the bridge.

Fuck you, OP. The original trilogy was 100x worse. While it might not have been exactly the same as the comics it was much more closer to the overall theme of the comics. Stacy was the woman, webs don't come out of his fucking hands like magic, and he isn't the complete embodiement of a nerd with no balls. And even if it wasn't as close to the comics as you like it was still way better than the others
I was VERY disappointed with "The amazing spiderman". So i watched the first 2 spiderman movies with Tobey Maguire instead
well I saw the pirated version pretty decent version and
I didn't hear Uncle Ben say his famous quote to Peter
and I didn't see the famous Stan Lee cameo appearance.

Uh... it was closer to the comics. He didn't have freaky web glands in his wrists. And he wasn't a total pussy.
