Skyrim and Fallout have same properties. You can side with certain people, but that's going to make enemies as well as friends. You have your bandits, thugs, monsters, creatures, creations, and common irradiated insects. You have a very nice array of weapons at your disposal to use. Like Skyrim, you have "rare" versions of certain weapons.
(For Fallout 3, my personal favorite was Lincolns Repeater.)
Also like Skyrim, you level up and choose different things to boost yourself. Skyrim used trees of skills (one handed, two handed, block, etc.) and Fallout does, too, sorta. You can raise the skill level about 7 points. The highest level for these skills is 100. And every other time you rank up, you can choose a perk. These perks are available to you depending on your level and the levels of your skills.
In both Skyrim and Fallout, you're in a world where you can either go along with the story line, or you can free roam. I find this to be the best part of the games.
All in all, I'd give both games a good 10/10. And as for Fallout 3 or Fallout: New Vegas? I'd say do 3 first then New vegas if anything. Both versions are good.
Hope all this helps!

well fallout is better when it comes to enemies. in Skyrim you can almost always predict were they will be (except outdoors) in fallout you have absolutely no idea where they will be.
and the details are just brilliant, like you're walking someplace with houses and you open a mailbox, theres a letter from vault co. in it saying the people weren't chosen to enter the vaults.
it's just little things but it makes the game awesome
tl;dr it's awesome

He sure is. Blew my mind the first time I've heard him. Here's the Fallout 3 cast btw: www.imdb.com/title/tt1073664/

Ok. im going to level with you, i have never played fallout 3, I've only played new Vegas and personally i didn't connect with it to well, I've always considered myself to be more of an Elder Scrolls fan, but i have more respect for that game now i know he had an appearance in it. Because i love Liam Nesson.

I've played both and I'm currently during my third playthrough on New Vegas. I've found Fallout 3 to be way more immersive than NV, maybe because of the whole background the main character has or maybe because I'm more into watching a city in ruins rather than a desert. Nevertheless, I sure miss Liam Nesson's voice here and then. Good luck with the game!
Thought he'd be lookin' porn or something... But this was way better especially the end!

Your opinion doesn't take into consideration the fact that most of the anti-grammar posts are based on old memes that the majority of users here have laughed at and integrated into their internet usage.
<---ex: the one i just posted above originated with this post here
Quite simply they are comedic and few people here think that this is the actual usage of grammar.

no my opinion is that i don't find those funny i don't understand why improper grammer is so funny like dolan or whateer i never really paid much attention to those but when i did i could barely understand it and the jokes weren't all that funny i just don't like those types of jokes and apparently me saying that is like me going on pony time and saying mlp is for faggots this will get just as much red thumbs as that would
nospeaking words is fine but misspelling and then adding worse grammar to it just doesn't seem funny to me i i am completely nuetral about the people who make the comics because i know they are trying to be funny it just isn't funny to me but we all have different sense of humours trust me i don't hate you guys
