I do not know anything at all about the Chargers or the Cardinals. Will this game be boring or entertaining?
User avatar #33170 to #33169 - choochoomofo (09/09/2014) [-]
It will probably be pretty fast paced.

Well, Eli still looks uncomfortable with the offense, the play calling for both sides of the ball was bad, especially on defense (It's 3rd and short and Detroit is using five receivers? Let's play seven yards off of all of them!), Victor Cruz decided to keep the gloves that he covered with Crisco from last year, and the "offensive line" as the Giants like to pretend they have probably won't hold up for even half of the year.

I'm worried that the Giants won't be a real competitor again until Coughlin leaves and Eli either gets a lot more help (I'm looking at you, Cruz) or we move on to a new quarterback and offensive scheme entirely.

I'm a jets fan, but at this point I just feel bad for Eli, he's getting absolutely zero help.

User avatar #33143 to #33142 - lawuser ONLINE (09/08/2014) [-]
I might, but I don't really care, to be honest. All I needed to know from this round was that Denmark won and Portugal lost.
How're the Farose taking having a rare victory taken right out of your hands?
User avatar #33144 to #33143 - christmouth (09/08/2014) [-]
I understand why, the match so far is pretty boring. Højberg ftw.

Yeah, fuck we were actually close for once, but of course we got cold feet, and everything collapsed. Haven't really talked to anyone about it, but I was there at the stadium, and people were really disappointed, when the match ended, but of course people weren't really expecting a win, but the way we lost was worse than the loss itself.
It was fun seeing our team actually being in front for once.
User avatar #33145 to #33144 - lawuser ONLINE (09/08/2014) [-]
Højbjerg was really good. Next match is against Albania away, so I hope we can pull off something there. If we do it'll be the perfect start for out qualification campain.
Do Farose people cheer for the Danish team as well?

I think it was in 2011 or somethere were the Farose team was in the lead against Estonia but then they scored twice in the additional minutes. It must feel pretty bad having to go into pretty much every match with low expectations.
How'd it collapse though? Played too defensively towards the end?
User avatar #33146 to #33145 - christmouth (09/08/2014) [-]
I watched the second half of the Denmark match, and he played really well. I hope he'll do that as well for Bayern.

It varies for person to person, but I don't really think that the average person follows the Danish national team. It's more that Premier league fans follow England, Primera fans Spain etc. But there are still some that do, and there are a few FC Copenhagen fans, and there will probably be more, because there's a Faroese youngster, who's close to the best team there. Fun fact, I've played on the same team as him.

Yeah, I remember that, just glad that I wasn't there at the stadium. It's okey, at least we can watch the best players in the world live.

It's more because the Faroese players are just generally bad, and can't focus for 90 minutes, and that gives away some very easy chances for Finland.
User avatar #33148 to #33146 - lawuser ONLINE (09/08/2014) [-]
Too bad FCK didn't pick you up. Sucks to be you.

I cna imagine. They don't get to play many top-level matches.
User avatar #33150 to #33148 - christmouth (09/08/2014) [-]
Yeah, I generally just suck.

We almost always get at least one high profile team every qualifier. In the WC qualifier we got Germany, and in the previous EC one we got France, and I got Ribery to sign my Bayern Munchen shirt that time, which was nice.
User avatar #33151 to #33150 - lawuser ONLINE (09/08/2014) [-]
Oh wow, that's pretty awesome. You should cross your fingers to get Holland next time.
User avatar #33152 to #33151 - christmouth (09/08/2014) [-]
Yeah, it was pretty cool. The best thing was that hehe was pretty chill, and just walked around and shook people's hands, and talked to people. The autograph has faded somewhat from the shirt, and the number has sadly been damaged by washing it. I once got the entire French team to sign their autographs on some sticky notes, but I have no idea where they are now.

I tried to get the autographs from the Germans, when they were here, but they weren't as chill, and just ran back to the bus.

Getting Holland would be awesome. Then I should get one from Robben.

User avatar #33154 to #33153 - christmouth (09/08/2014) [-]
I must hope, that he doesn't retire like Ribery did.

Switzerland made a mistake, which England took advantage off and scored.

''Can you imagine if American athletes actually started caring about soccer? There would be no World Cup! It would be an exhibition game played in Cincinnati, OH every year. 'And Italy has the ball, Fabrizio is approaching the goal, but oh! Here comes LaDameleon Tomlinson! He's running up the field, passes it to LeBron James. James kicks it and it flies out of the stadium into another goal! America 1000, Italy, France and Germany negative 4!"

What do you think of a trade proposal I got?

Tom Brady and Jason Witten for Greg Olsen and Philip Rivers. I'm the one with Brady and Witten, and Russel Wilson and Antonio Gates are their backups.
#33130 to #33128 - xxxsonic fanxxx (09/08/2014) [-]
How long do you have to trade? Can it wait until after tomorrow's Chargers game or no?
#33134 to #33130 - mattcris (09/08/2014) [-]
I think I could probably wait until the game tomorrow, yes.
#33135 to #33134 - xxxsonic fanxxx (09/08/2014) [-]
Perhaps you should wait to make a decision until after the game, so that you can analyze Rivers and see if he would be a good trade in your favor. Personally, I would stick with Brady and Witten; however, you may want to get some second opinions on this matter.

User avatar #33122 to #33121 - saltyfries (09/08/2014) [-]
we'll bounce back hopefully, out of 32 teams the Seahawks are the most prepared, they should be since they got fined for over practicing for $300k. There's no way any team is going to beat them considering that.
User avatar #33133 to #33122 - theassmancometh (09/08/2014) [-]
Practice? We talkin bout practice?
User avatar #33124 to #33122 - bondofsnow (09/08/2014) [-]
For how long did they over practice? Also, I didn't even know that that was a thing you could get fined for doing.
User avatar #33126 to #33124 - saltyfries (09/08/2014) [-]
it's part of the new CBA, teams are only allowed a certain set of full contact practices, padded, no two a days, and I think a certain time limit as well for all practices. Seahawks basically completely ignored the CBA and just did what they want, oldschool style, like every practice was full padded, full contact, and possibly a two a day here or there.
User avatar #33110 - bondofsnow (09/08/2014) [-]

It's not like I bet $100 every game, usually it's just a meal or 5 bucks.

Week 8.

Although with his tendency to run, he'll probably get laid out enough to knock some sense into his ham-faced head when they face the Ravens in week 5.
