**Orc rolled image** Who do you guys think will make it to the national championship in college football this year?
User avatar #31804 - SuperSixONE (9 hours ago) [-]
So uh Bayern vs Guadalajara, amirite?
User avatar #31802 - thatdamnllama (11 hours ago) [-]
as a fan of one Tampa Bay sports team, i must say this (the Lightning) and sort of being a fan of another (Rays), i must say this

the Tigers fleeced the Rays in that David Price trade.

Pretty shitty match. You guys didn't miss out on anything.
User avatar #31803 to #31801 - SuperSixONE (9 hours ago) [-]
I was there, with my bros too. It was a pretty good match for a friendly that didn't have any of the stars besides Ribery. If you saw it on TV you might have missed the scuffle. Two guys went at it and everyone ran in. It got broken up pretty soon though. I think it really had a little bit of everything, like seeing Pizza's bra at the end.
User avatar #31820 to #31803 - christmouth ONLINE (3 hours ago) [-]
I had expected more from Bayern, as they made so many mistakes, but I see why it's a good match to see live.

Yeah, I saw the scuffle. Wasn't it Lewandowski?

I wanted at least one new pitcher. Pitching is our problem. We need bullpen help right now and starting pitching. We have a couple starting pitching prospects I assume Neal will call up for a chance this month. Or he better.

Yahoo being the dumbasses that they are still feel that Milwaukee is going to finish 4th in the division, we've led the division almost entirely all year, we're playing well, pitching well, and all we need to start doing is hit well and we're set! Khris Davis is having a monster hitting year with almost 20 HR's, Mark Reynolds despite a low batting average has 20 HR's, and Gomez is an All-Star, we're hot and we're staying hot. I just want them damn Cardinals to GO AWAY!
User avatar #31816 to #31815 - theassmancometh (7 hours ago) [-]
4th in the division? Wat? Reds are gonna be fourth. I'm scared of the cards new rotation. I'm Hoping the bucks can squeeze in the 2nd wild card spot. The Brew Crew and the Cards will be within a game of each other at the end of September.

Epic underdog story. Read it in this guys voice and listen to this www.youtube.com/watch?v=VXuXBLlfxRo

> Coach Volleyball team, we are 8-7
> Opponents are the best team in the league 14-1 (they beat the current 2 seed 2-1 and they are 13-2), 1 seed gets a bye for the playoffs.
> only 6 players show up, thankfully they are all decent players, none of the shit players, but still, odds are stacked against us. Every player on the other team is 6-6'5 for men and all the girl players can really really play.
>Round 1
> Other team starts serving, this kid is 6'5 and can HAMMER the ball.
>Our team was hopeless returning the ball, losing 0-8
>Kid decided to underhand the ball so his team can actually play
>We win the rally that lasted 1 min and get the serve
> regain what was lost, 7-8 with 5 mins of long rallies, lose the rally to make it 7-9
> Our players are playing with fire, every time they had a big play, we responded.
> It's 14-15, opponents have this girl come up who can serve really well, took 3 attempts to stop it and regain the serve
> 15-18, one of our girls who isn't that consistent with the serve gets a few over and we tie the game 18-18 but lose the serve, 18-19.
> We regain the serve and take a 20-19 lead, lose the serve, 20-20.
> The other team serves, we hit it back over, they return it, we hit it back to them, they set it to the guy (who also had that incredible serve going 0-8 at the beginning), and HE GETS BLOCKED by one of our guys. It's 21-20!
> We don't get the points, we have to win by 2, it's 21-21.
> They serve, one of our girls does a horrible bump right into the net, BUT ANOTHER PLAYER DIVES AND DIGS IT OUT AND ANOTHER HITS THE BALL INTO THE OPPONENTS CORNER FOR THE LEAD.
> Serve over, final rally in round 1. The opponents hit one deep into the corner and one of ours DIVES AND HITS IT UP, then another makes a desperate swing and it hits the BACK LINE of our opponents side and we win round 1, in extra points, 23-21.

User avatar #31781 to #31773 - hawaiianhappysauce (07/31/2014) [-]
ROUND 2
> The other team was pissed since now their seed is in jeopardy if they lose again.
> They play smash mouth volleyball.
> They would call out who to target "target her, she can't hit", complete assholes
> They match us point for point until it's 12-13. Then... that server was up. He learned his lesson from last game. He was relentless with his serves and got 8 straight points again. We lose round 2, 12-21.

ROUND 3. Tie breaker first to 15.

> You would think that it's hopeless since that kid is serving but nooo, this is rally scoring. Since we had the ball first, he rotates out of the serving position and we don't have to worry about his serve anymore.
> Despite this fact, we were still down 2-6.
> We get the ball back and one of our girl players gets 6 straight shots over the net that lead to long rallies and ended 6-7. Other team is getting nervous, they don't want to lose this game. They have the serve, we hit it right into the front of their side for an easy spike. One of their players SLAMS IT onto our side, but he hit the net. Foul. Goes back to our team it's 7-7.
> after 4 intense rallies it's 9-9, our ball
> They have a big guy who is extremely aggressive when playing in the back line. One of our players picked up on that and set it far back and forced him to run back and he tips the ball out. 10-9. We get a serve that hits right in the middle and 3 people didn't communicate and gave up a point. 11-9
> We lose the serve after and they hit the net on the serve 12-10.
4 long rallies later it's 13-13, our ball.
> Our MVP of the day was serving, he was playing better than ever before. He serves 1 over. They set the tall guy up for a spike, he hits it BUT one of us DUG IT OUT and sends it back to their side. They go at it again, set it to same guy, he hits, DUG AGAIN. After it was set then SPIKED BY one of our first year players!
> we needed 1 more point. MVP serves it, long rally, team messes up, we win. 15-13.
User avatar #31783 to #31781 - hawaiianhappysauce (07/31/2014) [-]
The match was set with the 8-7 team defeating the 14-1 team, who is now a 15-3 team and is no longer the 1 seed.

After the game they blamed the refs for their losses, even the coach. Poor sportsmanship.
User avatar #31785 to #31783 - hawaiianhappysauce (07/31/2014) [-]
This is what happens when you practice. You have a team that will produce results. Our players who didn't routinely go to practice played all the games until now, and because of them we were 8-7, but without them we would easily be the number 1 seed because we beat the team that beat everyone else, except for us.

Jaguars suck, not in a million years

Lol what?
Definitely possible since they lost Smith and their #2 receiver.
Who?
eh... Idk
lol I think they will go 8-8

Cardinals regress this year
RGIII continues to struggle
Brady and Manning finally start to slow down
Bengals win the AFC
Seahawks lose their first playoff game

Michael Sam fucks one of his teammates
Johnny Manziel does coke of his center's ass
User avatar #31787 to #31765 - hawaiianhappysauce (22 hours ago) [-]
Unlikely, but possible. Saints would really have to blow it.
This is very likely, especially if they put Vick in on day 1.
In that division, could happen
Yes
They already are slowing down
They have not won a playoff game in 11 years

Packers go undefeated in divison
Texans bounce back and return to playoffs
Lions win wildcard
Bears choke again
Raiders get worst record of 1-15
49ers will NOT win division or wildcard
Rams will be other wildcard winner
Nick Foles MVP (27 and 2 in TD/INT's last season, numbers never lie)
Cowboys get worst NFC record
Eagles win Division
Personal Bias, Packers vs Patriots for Super Bowl
Actual Bold, Lions vs Texans, first SB against first SB
Browns, Jets, Jags, Vikings, Cardinals, and Buccaneers will be last in their divisions, not necessarily bad records
Highest record will only be 12-4
User avatar #31789 to #31759 - hawaiianhappysauce (22 hours ago) [-]
That's almost guaranteed if Rodgers is healthy, not really bold
Possible
I agree, it's either them or the bears
Which is why I would bank on Detroit to win Wildcard
Depends. They have a lot of veterans, if they are all healthy then no, if they all get hurt then yes
Possible
No
That seems almost guaranteed
It's either them or Giants, Giants went 7-3 in last 10 games. Eli could have a rebound year
I want that too, Rodgers vs Brady
That would be awesome
I don't think Jets will be last
Naa I think the Colts with their super easy schedule will go 13-3

As a patriots fan I want to know why do people hate them so much. Not as a bragging kind of way but actually interested. I grew up with them and I do realize that sometimes we pull some bullshit wins but I do want to know what's up.

P.S fantasy football is starting soon. Any thoughts?
User avatar #31726 to #31723 - subtard (07/30/2014) [-]
-Brady is too handsome and doesn't get hit enough. Endorsed Uggs. Married to supermodel. People don't like divas.
-They are consistently good, which people hate. Just like the Yankees.
-Belichek is dull and anti-fun
-People believe they are cheaters because of spygate.
User avatar #31724 to #31723 - thisismyhandle (07/30/2014) [-]
Three reasons I hate the Patriots:

1. I'm a Giants fan, so every single time the Super Bowl comes up (not just the ones between those two, but any Super Bowl) I have to listen to my friends get butthurt and bitch about how lucky the Giants got.

2. This one's fading a bit, but it was pretty obnoxious how many calls Brady/the Pats got for so many years. Recently I feel like those calls have gotten much more even.

3. I'm from Connecticut, and Robert Kraft basically bent us over to get us a better stadium.
User avatar #31730 to #31724 - saltyfries (07/30/2014) [-]
to be fair Gillette Stadium I think was necessary considering Foxboro Stadium was old and looked horrid both outside and inside, plus Gillette Stadium is almost 10k seats bigger, and compared to Metlife Stadium, a drop in the bucket in price...
User avatar #31733 to #31730 - thisismyhandle (07/30/2014) [-]
We were going to make a new stadium in CT for the Pats, so that doesn't really justify Kraft backing out of the deal he had with our governor at the last minute. Everything was in place and then Kraft backed out at the very last minute, when Massachusetts finally decided to put up enough money for Kraft to take it (even though it was much less than Hartford offered).

He forced the hand of those in Mass. by doing everything possible short of actually moving the team.

Also, I don't know what MetLife has to do with anything. MetLife has nothing to do with the deal Kraft had made in Hartford.
User avatar #31734 to #31733 - saltyfries (07/30/2014) [-]
I was talking about Metlife's Price tag
Gillette is under $400 million, for an open aired state of the art stadium, that's pretty good
Metlife at just over 10k more cap than Gillete, looking almost the same as the old giant stadium in the Meadowlands, no roof of anykind, costs $1.6 billion, I'm saying be thankful it wasn't more
User avatar #31735 to #31734 - thisismyhandle (07/30/2014) [-]
I know what you were referring to, but the new Giants stadium is unrelated to the deal I'm talking about. The stadium in CT was also going to be under $400 million.

The new Giants stadium costing a lot is a different topic altogether.
User avatar #31736 to #31735 - saltyfries (07/30/2014) [-]
either way what you described I think is pretty typical of owners, they'll do anything to not spend any money, ironically Atlanta Falcon owners are willing to spend 80% on a new stadium in Atlanta, Georgia Dome ain't even 30 years old yet and they want to replace it already, WHY? Fucking owners are stupid.

And then there was the deal Miami got with the Marlin's Park, fucking criminal.
User avatar #31737 to #31736 - thisismyhandle (07/30/2014) [-]
Dude, the CT stadium was going to be paid through bonds, which would be payed off with money made at the stadium. Kraft had to pay no money out of pocket for the new locale, and CT would have benefited greatly from it (which is why I'm not the only person who doesn't like Kraft in this state).

I just looked into the Marlin's one. Dat corruption tho
User avatar #31738 to #31737 - saltyfries (07/30/2014) [-]
did u see my rant on why some new stadiums are just completely unnecessary? and how if one costs $1 billion or more it should show for it?
Yeah New York kind of pisses me off right now
between 50k cap open air new Yankee Stadium, and Metlife, New York has spent $3.1 billion on just 2 stadiums! It's ridiculous! That's not even including Citi Field which was $900 million (though necessary considering Shea Stadium was an incomplete concrete donut)
User avatar #31739 to #31738 - thisismyhandle (07/30/2014) [-]
Yeah, I think I saw it. It is ridiculous

I do like the new Giants stadium a lot more than the old one though.
User avatar #31725 to #31724 - njproc ONLINE (07/30/2014) [-]
1. I honestly think that both times the giants beat the pats in the superbowl it was fair game. I actually like the giants more than most of my pats friends.

2. I can definitely see a few play calls every season going to brady because he is brady.

3. I'm from Rhode island and I did not know that hey butt raped you guys for a stadium.

One thing I do want to ask is that do you think that the pats are actually a good team or do you think that we are just average at best and we get blown up because of the brady bunch?
User avatar #31727 to #31725 - thisismyhandle (07/30/2014) [-]
I think the Pats are a great team, and that they have been for a long time. Brady and Belichick are probably the best QB/coach tandem of all time. I actually like a lot of the players that have been on the Pats roster in the past 15 years, I just don't like the team/organization itself.

I do, however, think that there have been years where the Pats weren't that great, but Belichick was able to make something out of it each time.

btw, I saw the preseason schedule for the Pack, and I'm honestly hoping we don't play A-Rod at all the first 2 games, we're on the road, opposing fans are not there to see A-Rod, plus, less chance for injury, this is a very advantageous preseason schedule we should take advantage of. Let the starters play in week 3 and 4 when at home, gets them in shape and ready by week 1.

I fear for both of our teams. The Jets are looking ok, the Bills have made improvements and Miami was decent last year. The division will be tough.

On the other hand, the Packers have it worse. Detroit has more offensive weapons, they are a talented team, but more importantly, the Bears have a significant number of offensive weapons, it really comes down to how Cutler plays, and if he plays well then Green Bay might have a tough season. It's already tough enough when you are playing the Saints, Panthers, Hawks, Patriots, and Eagles.
User avatar #31704 to #31694 - saltyfries (07/28/2014) [-]
while true, so long as A-Rod is healthy, we have quite possibly our strongest offense yet. No distractions, Eddie Lacy, 6 really good WR's, deep TE's, it's really talented (provided we have a good O-Line for once ). Considering we also focused heavily on defense this offseason (not counting Peppers cuz we have bad luck with veterans), I'm hoping for a comeback season defensively for the Pack this year.
Bears have proven like the Cowgirls time and time again that they're choke artists
Lions kill themselves in penalties and lack discipline, if Caldwell can instill discipline on them, then yes they are a threat
Vikings, fortykeks
User avatar #31705 to #31704 - hawaiianhappysauce (07/28/2014) [-]
I think the opening game will determine the fate of that team. If they beat Seattle, then they are truely the team to beat in the NFC. I wouldn't be shocked if we had Patriots vs GB (I actually would like that, two of the greatest quarterbacks in one Superbowl).
