Guys I wanna buy a Fallout game and I am thinking New Vegas. Yes or No?
User avatar #80 to #51 - newbiedoobiedoo (07/04/2012) [-]
First buy Fallout 3 Game of the Year Edition, it comes wiht all DLC and one which pushes the level cap to 30, for 20 bucks, see if you like it, then buy new vegas
User avatar #78 to #51 - msustlsr (07/04/2012) [-]
i liked fallout 3 more, just seemed like it had more to it...new vegas was fun too but it just seemed empty
#89 to #78 - justakewldewd (07/04/2012) [-]
The irony being that Fallout 3 was designed to be empty.

what i ment is the mojave wasteland is just a big desert and capital wasteland is more urban with washington dc being in it and i wasnt really impressed with fallouts version of vegas
#122 to #101 - mysticalwok (07/04/2012) [-]
Well, the Mojave IS a big desert, but I know what you mean, with the game alone it gets boring very quickly, but with the DLC it's much better.

Damn, I read that wrong. I thought you had meant that NV felt more empty, not just empty. My mistake.
User avatar #79 to #78 - msustlsr (07/04/2012) [-]
and the radios better lol
User avatar #71 to #51 - shadesofbacon (07/04/2012) [-]
I would choose new vegas personally, it is the better game even if it hasn't got that real post apocalypse feel.
User avatar #68 to #51 - gamechap (07/04/2012) [-]
Definitely Fallout 3 first. I bought the Game of the Year edition for like, 20 bucks. That's an insanely cheap price for hundreds of hours of playability.
User avatar #60 to #51 - Crispin (07/04/2012) [-]
Fallout 3 first, then New Vegas....

You can get Fallout 3 on amazon for insanely cheap.
User avatar #59 to #51 - trolljunkusa (07/04/2012) [-]
Buy both, they're both really cheap at gamestop

if you want the real Fallout experience, I'd say go with Fallout 3; if you want a game with lots of side quests and multiple storylines, go with New Vegas.

Yes.
A thousand times yes.
I sold a lot of my games, like I had 18 and I sold most. When I got down to the last 2, it was Battlefield 3 and Fallout New Vegas. I'm never selling New Vegas it's so fun.
User avatar #54 to #53 - arsyro (07/04/2012) [-]
Looks like I am getting that this week
User avatar #55 to #54 - turboplague ONLINE (07/04/2012) [-]

Just a fun fact:
The Barter Bobblehead in Fallout 3 holds a bottle cap in the air and not pre-war money, even though it was produced before the bombs fell - before bottlecaps became a currency.

What if somebody modified it? As in they carved away the plastic money in his hand, then glued in an actual bottlecap?

Now I'm going to be looking for the tell tale glue bulge for the next hour, thanks a bunch.

If you have played Fallout 1 & 2, there is alot more lore in FNV and more consistensy, but really tho, get both.

I preferred the Capital Wasteland to the Mojave "Wasteland", and Liam Neeson was pretty badass as James, but New Vegas improves upon almost every aspect of gameplay, whether it be letting you choose which path to take or combat. Go with New Vegas. I just wish New Vegas had come out first, exactly how it is, and then FO3 came out after it so it would have the better mechanics and branching story.
User avatar #104 to #40 - LiamNeeson (07/04/2012) [-]
Thank you.
#39 to #35 - N. Korean citizen (07/04/2012) [-]
Fallout 3 is better, New Vegas was a shadow of it, still it was so good that new vegas is still decent
#38 to #35 - N. Korean citizen (07/04/2012) [-]
NV had better writing in my opinion. FO3 was more like a wasteland survival. Both are good.
User avatar #37 to #35 - pyneapl (07/04/2012) [-]
THEY are both awesome but start with FO3
User avatar #36 to #35 - moshthun (07/04/2012) [-]

Because as explained in Old War Blues for Fallout New Vegas, they predicted bottle caps to be the new currency, that means when they informed the government government workers might start saving up their loose bottle caps to have for after the nuclear disaster.
User avatar #8 to #4 - boogyshadow (07/04/2012) [-]
Still doesn't explain how there's jet on shelves inside rooms that haven't been touched since before the bombs dropped... Jet was created by Myron.

#12 to #8 - N. Korean citizen (07/04/2012) [-]

I always thought that quest was a bit foul. It should have been that you could choose to break it, and get the 500 and good karma, or keep it up and get to make 100 or so caps every day and lie about breaking it for bad karma.
User avatar #75 to #11 - Screenshotman (07/04/2012) [-]
They even said they could notice it was counterfeit, so I don't see that working well.
