They go to school from probably 7 AM to 3 PM and have the whole rest of the day to do whatever they want, and get weekends off on top of that, not to mention summers. It does not take a gym to exercise. Hell, look at what they're planning to go out and do: sunbathe. That is an activity that literally entails lying around for hours doing precisely nothing.
