Amon, possibly, uses his "chi-bending"(easier to call it that) to block the bending of the target, so it is possible for a chi bender trained enough to give them back their bending.
If it wasn't through chi bending, then they will find a way to gain their bending again.
Also, I think that most the characters will get their bending taken away, but returned at the end. Even the last air benders.

drozzbear (06/17/2012) [-] Chi-blocking is a skill that requires you to jab at a certain area of the body to block chi from flowing through the body and therefore making you unable to bend. Amon just simply touches two places on the body, and although it may have something to do with chakra's, it's not chi-blocking.

nigeltheoutlaw (06/17/2012) [-] I will bet you that she will get her bending back eventually. It's been pretty clear that Amon is only blocking the physical aspect of bending. Even the Guru from TLA said that the separation between the physical and spiritual aspects of bending are an illusion, so their bending isn't really gone. That's why although I was bummed when Lin got blocked by Amon, I didn't cry.
