to get the record strait they aren't gods they are beings from a different universe. they are "worshiped" as gods by the Nordic people ,they aren't really gods despite their powers.

In the avengers movie they are not gods, they are refered to as Demi-gods.... so its not really the movies logic.

Why have we made the assumption that Tony Stark is an atheist? He's called himself a "futurist", yes, but his religious affiliation has never even been touched upon. He's not devout, but in some comics we see him pray.

Thor and Loki aren't really gods, so Iron Man and Captain America can still technically have their beliefs (or lack of, in Stark's case).

thor and loki are thought to be gods because of their powers, but are actually just powerful beings. But, still, good joke. Thumb for you. =D

Because i live in Finland no one who saw that movie could take it seriously. That's like making Jesus a marvel super hero. Its a completely laughable concept.

They were deemed Gods by ancient Vikings because that was the only way to explain something like inter-dimensional travel and control of lightning at the time. nice try though, OP.

I had this thought the other day.
What if, like
Every god from every religion is real.
And they battle to control the world.
And when one religion is winning the battle, they use their god powers to convince a majority of the world that they're the real and only god(s)

I personally think this is a great video game idea.

technically they're not gods. in thor, one of thor's friends even says something along the lines of "you call down a bolt of lightning and they treat you like a god"
