Twas just a funny gif...Im not arguing about the Physics. I mean, either you are going to get hurt by the sudden jolt, while being tied down to your seat, or you are going to get fucked up by smashing your face against the wall of the bus at 80+Mph so either way the kids are screwed. Stop trying to be a kill joy, I did not say anything contrary to your argument, so let us have some fun, fuddy duddy

It's simple really. One person dead is a tragedy, fifty is a statistic.

Even if it had seat belts the kids would probably rip them off or not wear them. Hell when i was in HS i was lucky the bus still had seats.

Evidently, research shows that seat belts don't work the same way they do in heavy buses than cars. Buses are actually very safe due the the fact that they are so heavy, and that the large seats act as make-shift air bags in the event of a collision. That's why the buss driver has one and not the kids; the buss driver has no seat in front of him to lessen the impact.
Seat belts are actually required in buses that are under 10k lbs. And according to national statistics less than 100 children die a year in buss related accidents. while it's something like 1000 die each year by walking, biking, or driving to school. Seat belts are also make buses much more expensive, since it puts more of a limit on how many children can be on the buss.
I mean, if the buss starts tumbling over the side of the road into a ditch your pretty fucked either way. But when it comes to collisions with other vehicles the impact that the passengers receive is usually against the seats.
So yeah. That's why.

Ok, I could understand that if all buses were in suburban/urban areas where the biggest things that they deal with are pick up trucks and SUVs, but what about my bus, i live in the country and go down the most traveled highway in the area, where transport trucks, box trucks, tractors, construction vehicles, etc. go down.
Your logic works if it's a head on, or rear end collision with a personal vehicle, but what about an accident with a transport truck?

I also live on the country side, and collisions with cars/trucks/SUV's still happen more often. But yes, there is the threayd of farm vehicles and transport trucks. If it's a head on/rear collision, the same principles apply, but if hit from the side I could see seat-belts being more useful. It's just that those kinds of accidents don't happen nearly as much as those with other vehicles.
Like I said; if the buss flips like that you're pretty much screwed. The g-forces in an accident like that are so great that it might even be worse having a seat-belt holding you back. I could imagine some of them having broken limbs, severe bruising, and even being strangled by the belts.
They don't have seat belts on buses because they tested it. They do nothing to help when the kids are smacking each other in the faces with them.
4-7 people? Nah, not enough people getting knocked around in an accident. 50? Hey yeah let's see those kids fly!
That's why i sit in the back, so when the bus crashes all the little kids in front of me will cushion me and save me from dying!
To be fair, when it's a school bus vs car, the school bus will probably win.
Doesn't matter. Unless you hit another bus or a truck, your bus is gonna arserape whatever car's infront of you.

Though it's funny at first, but wearing seat belts on a bus are more dangerous than not wearing one. Plus those huge seats are actually made specifically to protect kids from crashes, and the bus frame is so huge that it absorbs most of the accident anyways. Out of the many bus crashes a year, an extremely small percentage of children die. Kids wearing a seatbelt in a car are like 300 times more likely to die then a kid in a bus with no seatbelt.
