i wouldn't say either of them 'kept Europe' as neither of them successfully invaded or captured Britain as well as Russia. Hitler only really controlled central and western Europe not Spain and Napoleon at his height of power only spread to Germany, well Poland but that was a satellite state. In fact i would say Hitler controlled more of Europe than Napoleon did.
