well its all about the approach. and those who try to troll you are probably newfags and you should not worry about them. of course you should always use safety precautions when lurking /b/ i was behind a proxy when i downloaded that file and visited links in general. if you have really been on 4chan for a long time then you should know that most of them there are fail trolls and you shouldn't worry about them(if you are smart enough)

Last time I saw someone "ask /b/" they fooled some kid into completely wiping the hard drive on his dad's computer when he wasn't allowed to be on it. It's true, /b/ probably knows, but they will use your lack of knowledge to troll you instead of giving you the right answer.
