His mother, having been told tons of imaginary stories about how good friends they were, was implying that if OP had been only been on the bus, then he would have stuck up for the kid and he wouldn't have committed suicide. This gives OP a feel, as he never did any of the things the kid said they did, and even worse, he was on the bus, and failed to stick up for the kid, indirectly causing the suicide. And the mother is all weepy and grateful and shit which just adds to it.

Clearly you either have no pattern recognition or haven't been on FJ very long. All things that happen on FJ will fade away. Ponies have slowed down while they're waiting for the next season, fucking-science and fucking-boobs have gone away, Dolan has mostly vanished, and all of the other fads.

tl;dr - Everything on FJ comes and goes. The feels posts will fade away, and complaining about it won't make it happen any faster.

Sadly, ponies will never go away, i knew fucking-boobs and fucking-kids wouldnt last, those just werent funny, but fucking-science is still getting stuff every now and then. Kinda glad Dolan is gone, dolan always haunted my nightmares lol. I just hate going through my pre-class FJ frontpage walkthrough of the day and all the frontpage is fucking FEELPOSTS.
