infinitenight (06/11/2012) [-] Guise. Guys listen...GUYS. I think Amon is just a really advance chi blocker to the point that it extends to the space around him. Chi is just energy right? So maybe Amon had the ability to negate that chi. I also think he can sense chi flow as we see he was never hit by a bending attack. Remember the shutdown of the pro-bending arena. It's like Amon knew that fire blast was coming so he was easily able to dodge it.

We all know Korra excelled in the physical part of bending. Amon seems to be extremely spiritual(assuming he wasn't lying about his background story, meaning he really could talk to spirits. What if Korra and Amon are spiritual twins; maybe even long lost, but Korra's parents are alive which rules that out. Maybe for some reason (I'm guessing because Aang froze and later died in the avatar state and reviving) the avatar's reincarnation split. Not necessarily a good and evil half, but a spiritual and physical and it was a coincidence that Amon turned out to be evil. That would be why Korra is so good at bending phyiscally and not spiritually, and why Amon and energy bend and talk to spirits. Korra can bend the elements, while Amon can bend energy and talk to the spirits.

Maybe people would just learn again. I've always wondered if the original human benders had something in them that allowed them to learn, or if any non bender can learn.

xinsai (06/11/2012) [-] Eh...not really - fuck replying to an anon, he won't see this - His avatar state only came back due to trauma in the same place he had the trauma-induced block. Unless they figured a way to "shock" their bodies in to un-doing the block, they would forever remain blocked.
