So far, I'm not too impressed with the show. Only 4 episodes in, though.

I'm a huge fan of the series and I would go as far as saying the first season is okay. Where the show drastically picks up is the 2nd and 3rd seasons. I highly recommend powering through the first season so that you can properly enjoy the 2nd and 3rd.

I will, at some point. Been busy with Doctor Who, though. Now that shit is THE shit.
If I've understood it correctly, ATLA/Korra is some sort of serious half-kid/teen show with lots of drama and epic villains. If you want this, I'd suggest you watch Wakfu sometime. French anime-style show made in Flash. Has the best battle scenes and villains I've seen in any show. Ever.

I'd like to watch all this, as well, but could someone, please, explain me what's the difference between The Legend of Korra, The Last Airbender, and whatever else may be there? Which comes first, in which order do I watch?
Legend of Korra is the story of the next incarnation of the Avatar. Who takes the form of Korra, a strong and somewhat rebellious girl form the Southern Water tribe. The story takes place 80 years after the events of The Last airbender (or legend of Aang, depending on which country you're from) in Republic City. A new city made by Avatar Aang and his friends to act as a place for a common ground among people.
Last Airbender: 3 books (seasons) water, earth and fire. Each about 20-ish episodes apiece
Korra: still airing new eps, so far 2 confirmed season. First has 12 as does the second.

You mean Avatar the Western!Anime? Or "the lastairbender" movie? By M Night Shamalamllama?
I always wanted to be a earth-bender mostly because I write down some cool moves I'd like to use for fighting
