As far as gun laws go, If someones gonna break a law I don't think another law is gonna stop them, though Id be completely fine taking a test to make sure im not crazy in order to buy a gun. I'm fine with gay marriage though, Americas a free country, And for anybody with Christian induced homophobia, Jesus told you not to judge, to love one another not hate on gays...

Instead, how about looking at what causes school shootings in the first place before you jump to banning gun conclusions.
If you didnt notice, all school shootings were done by male. Now why do you think that is? Because that specific male probably was in thousand $ debt and everyone told him to suck it up and be a men. Well its no mystery why the suicide rate for males is twice than females and increasing in ratio as you get older. You dont care about him, so why should he care about you? He had enough of peoples shit and decided to dish out his anger at the public. YOU made him do it, and as long as people keep treating men that way and tell them to suck it up and be a men, school shootings will never stop. Thank you.

thekaiseroxc (01/01/2013) [-] It's for protection from our government. As of now the American government is heavily flawed, however there isn't a need to overthrow the government at this point. But who knows what can happen in this next century! Say the government turned into a brutal police state or totalitarian regime. We the people have a duty to defend and overthrow this government and we would need the capability to do so. Doing this with hunting rifles and handguns won't happen. I know this this is unlikely, but it is a high risk low frequency situation we need to keep in mind.
What needs to be done is to have heavy regulation and background investigations for those who wish to purchase assault rifles.

BigDru (12/31/2012) [-] Once the government can prove to me that they can protect the lawful from the lawless, then I'll be more than happy to vote to outlaw guns. At the moment though, I feel much more safe knowing I have a .45 locked in a safe in my closet. It takes 22 minutes for an officer "in the area" to get to my house. It takes less than 2 minutes for me to get my gun and load it.
