Kill the cancer that is news sensationalism that is otherwise reducing moderate-minded political thought processes and promoting "sport" and inflammatory ones in place.
At the very center of all bias in the news and misinformation is this, and even though it serves its purpose in motivating people to approaching the issue, often times that motivation bears little actual fruit and is mostly a tool of manipulation for political parties.
Destroy it, and all you'd have left is more central news that's pure facts and information.

Civilization is built on people working together to survive in a sort of harmony that keeps everything together. While different cultures have different customs, as long as it works for them, they're fine. But if you go along with that definition, people who try to upset that balance of culture go against the harmony that keeps society together, and thus are uncivilized.

AIPAC Activism On Syria Disappears From New York Times

User avatar #47007 to #47006 - byposted (09/04/2013) [-]
This is the totality of the removed text:

"Administration officials said the influential pro-Israel lobby group Aipac was already at work pressing for military action against the government of Mr. Assad, fearing that if Syria escapes American retribution for its use of chemical weapons, Iran might be emboldened in the future to attack Israel. In the House, the majority leader, Eric Cantor of Virginia, the only Jewish Republican in Congress, has long worked to challenge Democrats’ traditional base among Jews.

One administration official, who, like others, declined to be identified discussing White House strategy, called Aipac “the 800-pound gorilla in the room,” and said its allies in Congress had to be saying, “If the White House is not capable of enforcing this red line” against the catastrophic use of chemical weapons, “we’re in trouble.”

It drives up costs because it doesn't provide jack shit all it really does is force you to buy healthcare from a private business.

Obama-care also forces small business to add part time employees to the healthcare plan thus causing them to close shop.

Seems to be anything "Good" he really did is subjective to what side you are one or demographic you belong to while everything else he never did.

And in no way does the "good" outweigh the bad.

Fast and Furious, IRS, Liberia, trying to get North Korea to attack, NSA, Patriot act, and etc.

"Ended the war in Iraq" And started how many more wars in the process?

Contemporary moral issues went well again today. According to my teacher, if everyone were able to simply choose their own morality and society should just tolerate it, it wouldn't work. You would have to be able to call your mother and tell her that if she were raped, it would be ok as long as the rapist chose that it was morally right.

User avatar #46983 to #46968 - CapnInterwebz (09/04/2013) [-]
Russia is not a single person with one set of opinions, it is a large group of people. Although many people might have zero tolerance for homosexuals (the vote to enact that law was unanimous, wasn't it?), they do not refelct the ideals of all Russians. Hence why there are gay Russians and other people that are not excited about watchinging others being beat down in the streets for the sake of "child safety".
User avatar #46988 to #46983 - byposted (09/04/2013) [-]
Nobody cares about fags in Russia except Westerners, funny that. They're kept in their place and a majority of Russians see it that way. The Communist Party even supports the law. It doesn't matter if there is a group of liberal dissenters; they can move to Sweden.

There's a huge cultural difference between America, Sweden and the rest of the world. Fags are still seen as deviant in areas where MTV doesn't shape values from childhood.
User avatar #46948 to #46945 - byposted (09/04/2013) [-]

Do you think the American public would be more eager to bomb Syria if John Kerry explained in detail his theory on Mid-East geopolitics and how Syria's destruction plays to its benefit?

Most people in the world use their emotions to conduct thinking. It's natural and politicians play on it as such. I find it interesting how libertarians come to view this as bad or unnatural in some way. Perhaps there is some truth to libertarianism being a codeword for autism. If it is the goal for a politician to gain the support of the commoner, reaching out via abstractions will do nothing.
User avatar #46959 to #46958 - pebar (09/04/2013) [-]
If the action really is to save children, then sure, and there's nothing wrong with acting based on emotion with that goal in mind. But children are more often used as mere propaganda tools to manipulate the population to support a decision, regardless of whether that decision would actually save children or not.
User avatar #46960 to #46959 - byposted (09/04/2013) [-]
I'm not disagreeing with you but am saying that human emotion is linked with decision making. Children are rightfully seen in such a protective way for the human mind has a natural tendency to safeguard children.

Is it so hard to understand why a large chunk of gun-control activists are soccer-mom types? A majority of the population has no objective interest in politics. Most have subjective interests such as the soccer-moms or hideous feminists.

The question is not trying to manipulate the human mind into thinking rationally but to play on its emotions. Most Americans don't even know where Syria is but they can be tricked into supporting a war with the right delivery.

Libertarians need to stop thinking about the individual when they're staring at a flock of sheep.

Did anybody watch the Senate discussion on Syria today? Rand Paul asked a simple question: Why should we intervene if it will make the Middle East less stable? Kerryberg responded by talking about Israel's security and began to project illogically. Kerry and a Democrat Senator entertained the thought of authorizing rebels to take control of chemical weapons! On CNN there was some Jewish dyke using the holocaust as casus belli.

The good news is that Rand Paul may filibuster the vote:
