Why was everyone obsessed with the moment California went blue?

It was always going to go blue. You should have just counted that for O from the get go. It's like watching a tsunami approach your coast and being surprised when it fucks shit up.

They're trying to add Puerto Rico as a state, and offer citizenship and federal aid to illegal immigrants. If that happens the two party system goes out the window. Smh. America is so antique in every way. From our infrastructure to our government. So many things need reformed, and they're not going to be.

So long as we continue to vote in two parties who insist on waging war with each other, America will only become further divided.

We had a choice between an experienced, intelligent, successful businessman, and a nigger. And we chose the nigger. Again. After he's done literally nothing to fix the economy, debt, and unemployment rate.

Are you really that unconscious of politics that you don't know that nothing has changed with this elections, HoR still held by republicans, Senate still held by democrats, and still a democrat president, the republican'ts are dragging their heels here. They've become the party of no here.

After researching it shows a break even with several independants who I can't find anything on: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Senate_elections,_2008 (Inb4 wikipedia being unreliable)

It astounds me that some people still think a theocracy can work, just because it's Christian.

Puerto Rico just voted to become the 51st US state.

I read it. Didn't fully get it. Is Puerto Rico being processed into becoming the 51st Stat, or have they not decided yet?

Really positive result, think of how much money they can make from the tax of weed alone, taking that money from the hands of drug dealers/smugglers, and booting the economy. i think that that is how Ireland could pull itself out of the recession, make it a tourist spot like Amsterdam without the seedyness/ prostitutes
User avatar #13663 to #13662 - ireallylikepotatoe (11/07/2012) [-]
Amsterdam is going to lose potential tourists due to a new law being added where you have to be a citizen to smoke weed.
User avatar #13678 to #13663 - Timmietim ONLINE (11/07/2012) [-]
They cancelled that. They had it in another city first to try it out but are not going to do it in Amsterdam.
In the new government rules (dont know the english name for it) they are not going to continue.
I would know because i live in Amsterdam
User avatar #13664 to #13663 - sarwarl (11/07/2012) [-]
That's not happening in Amsterdam now, they said that the mayor of each city can decide for themselves, and he obviously realised what a stupid idea it was for the economy, so isn't going to enforce it in Amsterdam.

The Urban vs. Rural divide in the US didn't even begin until 2000. I don't believe the Republican party can win by continuing to pander to the more rural and socially conservative areas. The US is becoming increasingly urbanized and more affluent (as is every developed nation). The Republican party is losing a demographic war.
User avatar #13666 to #13653 - vivapinatapro (11/07/2012) [-]
Florida, Virgina, and Ohio were extremely close races. The sky isn't falling for Republicans. They do need to reach out to the Hispanic population, but other than that just being careful with comments about rape and abortion from this point on could make all the difference for them.
User avatar #13654 to #13653 - deltadeltadelta (11/07/2012) [-]
I wonder how the Republicans will react if the referendum succeeds in Puerto Rico and Puerto Ricans vote to ascend in to statehood.

You have two choices.

Democrat: raise taxes, end tax loopholes.
Republican: cut absolutely everything except the military.
#13649 to #13648 - N. Korean citizen (11/07/2012) [-]
And by cut everything you also mean gay marriage, abortions and taking funding's from schools...
User avatar #13651 to #13649 - deltadeltadelta (11/07/2012) [-]
What does gay marriage or abortion have to do with the US's deficit?
#13659 to #13651 - N. Korean citizen (11/07/2012) [-]
Nothing, I'm just saying that by cutting everything you mean also cutting gay marriage and abortion. The only reason Romney wouldn't cut the military is because he wanted to start a war with Iran. Also, Obama raising taxes is a good thing. The US can then recover from the debt they're in.
