Guys I need a hand. Its my brothers birthday tomorrow and being the nub I am, haven't gotten him anything to open literally. Apparently gifts on steam aren't good enough. I need any good suggestions of gifts I can get a 19yr old in Tesco (UK) before tomorrow. Thanks for any help you might give. I am pretty desperate here.

Gift card maybe? If you don't know what stores he likes then buy him a visa or mastercard one.

draw somthing.
it doesn't matter if it sucks. it doesn't matter if you can't draw (that's would be better because the two of you can have a laugh about it.)
draw him, battling aliens with lasers ant dinosaurs or something. draw a space marine, or a knight.
using reference is okay but for god's sake don't trace or copy anything.
draw something original and not some character fan art bullshit.

good luck

If he's more of a sentimental type, buy a photo frame and put in a nice photo of you guys, or get a nice box and fill it with food items he likes.

Zarke is completely right. I've gone to conditioning for my lacrosse team for two years. The first, using weights, saw little improvement to my muscle mass. This year, however, we didn't use the weight rooms, we instead did things like situps, pushups, wall sits, planks, and toyotas (not the car, it's jumping with just your legs from a squatting position). Let me tell you something from this year:
it worked.
User avatar #64076 to #64058 - Zarke (04/05/2013) [-]
You don't need weights to train. Even simple things like pushups, squats, sit-ups, etc. will do wonders for you. The only thing you need for those is a bit of floor-space. It doesn't matter if you can't do many reps at first. Just set a goal and work towards it. I mean, I'm bad with pushups myself, but try to get to 10 a day. Once you can do that, try 15, then 20. Keep going, and you'll be in better shape in no time.

To start off, do a few push ups and crunches. The next day, have a run for a 20-30 minutes. Keep that pattern going. Once you feel that you can push yourself a little more, increase the number of push ups and crunches, and try to beat your record time during your next run.

You can also download some workout videos from online or watch some on Youtube.

They're not painful, but you will start to feel a burn after doing a few. If it's your first time working out, then you will feel some pain the next day or two. Once you take it up as a routine (about 3 times a week I think is good) you won't feel any.

I need a little bit of computer help. My grandma has passed me down her old work computer, its a nice HP platform with XP, and i remember using it a few years ago, the computer is really fast. It can run games with full graphics quite well.

But she has a bad habit of clicking on anything the internet says, and downloading anything it says to. So there were a ton of viruses and malware, ect. On that computer.

I have run into a problem, i can start the computer, but only after restarting it going through the System Setting (f12 at startup), and then it will only work in safemode. Once in safemode, it will lagg like crazy, and when the screen finally shows...

windowsexplorer.exe is corrupt

Thats the program that lets the taskbar, icons, ect actually show. There is nothing there.
Even worse, within about 2 or 3 minutes after that, taskmanger shows up, and freezes, then i get an even grimmer message.

Windows/fat32 is unable to run.

Howdy there folks, I have a friend that ive known for about 7-8 months (Since the beginning of the school year). And over the course of those 7-8 months shes always going through troubles and shit, and ive been there to help her out through each and every one. But ive come to notice, she never really appreciates what I do for her.. She'll always post shit like "Im alone, nobody cares for me".. stuff like that, as if she's trying to hide our friendship from everyone else.. I told her id always be there for her several times before, but she continuously tells people that no one is there for her. And what gets me even more mad is that when ever its me going through a hard time, she puts little to no effort into helping me get through those tough times.
Another things that gets me kind of pissed, is how she says "She's going to bed"... yet she'll stay on Skype with the other kid that was in our call with us for another 2-3 hours.. and then she'll message me on Facebook like an hour later after removing me from the call and then complain when I dont answer fast enough.. I dont know what to do/think.. I just needed to vent to someone/something so I decided to post it here.. By the way, I have no romantic interest in her anymore.. I friend zoned myself after the third month we knew eachother
#64091 to #64037 - rety (04/05/2013) [-]
I agree with the others. If you don't have romantic interest, why are you putting up with her shit?
BE honest with yourself about the romanticism thing, and let her walk all over you some more, or stop talking to her.

Get out of there man... Obviously using you when she needs you and like a sucker you keep running back. Get out, as soon as possible, just say it to her straight and it'll hit her, say 'You only chat to me when you need me and you feel as if you're being used and that you shouldn't talk no more'.

So I'm 19, and my dad is 42. He recently remarried to someone from Russia who is 28 and they are having a kid soon. I am currently living with him for the summer. I don't know how I really feel about him being married to someone who is closer in age to me than he is.. I mean, I have a sister that's age 23... Should I just not worry about this, or is this actually as weird to anyone else as it is to me? I mean it's his life and all, but shouldn't he be thinking of the kids he already has instead of trying to make a whole new family?
User avatar #64036 to #64034 - herblegerble (04/05/2013) [-]
If he is ignoring you and/or treating you like garbage then he should absolutely focus more on you. If he still gives you lots of love/attention/care then i guess it's okay.

Whilst the age thing might seem a little weird, you do have to remember that 28 is properly developed, it's not quite the same as 18 and 12 or something like that. Although, in my opinion, it is a little strange. Still, if it seems like "true love" there isn't really anything you can do about it.

I need some computer help here,
For a few weeks leaving my computer on and letting the screen go on standby, I couldn't wave y mouse or click, switch the screen on. And off or unplug or use my keyboard to get it back on ( my screens always been shitty though the on/off button has to be pushed 50 time ) so I have to reboot my computer every time standby comes on which I know isn't good for your computer. Now after rebooting a couple times my screen either stays black or I can move my mouse but when I go to click something it just freezes and te I can only use my mouse. I can't use my keyboard to open up tsk Manager and I've tried running on safe mode to close a few programmes on run msconfig but still having the same issues. It's not a mouse issue thanks if you help

I don't want noise canceling.

Preferably under $80.

Reason why I need to buy a pair is my cat recently decided my old ones woul be great for a nap. Fucker cracked them in half.

Thanks in advance for any brands/links anone can recommend.

get some akg, ive got a pair of AKG K44 headphones that fit around the ear, they are inexpensive, around 60 bucks. but the sound quality is incredible, the bass is great not overpowering, highs are crisp and clear, ive had them for about a year and they can stand quite a bit of abuse, you can find them on musiciansfriend or other music websites for special order.

User avatar #64018 to #64017 - iliekcereal (04/05/2013) [-]
But like, the symptom of as a child putting things in order really strikes me. I can remember lining up my hot wheels all the way from my room to the kitchen in a perfect single file line, and checking it. I'm also an obsessive collector of things, I have been my entire life. I pick my skin and other bad habits that are listed. Social skills haven't always been and even now aren't easy. Eye contact makes me uneasy. I used to be fascinated by lights and ceiling fans and swings. I become obsessively interested in things. As a child I loved to use big words instead of normal ones. Still do, actually. I tried to fit in and did it successfully for a few months before I got too tired of it, and told all my "popular" friends to go to hell. I feel different than everyone. For awhile I was incapable of handling more than a few friends, and really only recently overcame that. The list goes on seemingly forever. My mom actually told me she once had me tested for autism because of this. She said it came back negative, but what if I was misdiagnosed? Or what if she lied?
User avatar #64023 to #64018 - megganoob (04/05/2013) [-]
Autistic people have a hard time recognising people are getting bored of hearing them talk, dont recognise when its not or is there turn to speak on the phone.
Have a hard time recognising facial expressions and tones in peoples voice (cant tell if there angry etc)
There are different levels of autism remember.

I doubt you have autism if you can still manage to fit into normal (popular) society, I used to think I was autistic because of my collecting, obsession with certain things and hating all aspects of social interaction. turns out I'm just a loner. Ahaha.
User avatar #64080 to #64023 - iliekcereal (04/05/2013) [-]
But I just think about it and it makes sense. I've had bad habits all my life. When I was little and I saw a word written somewhere in a big font, I would stop what I was doing and nod my head in the shape of the letters. I used to have a wart on my hand that I picked the skin off of until it bled. After I finally broke that habit, I moved on to picking pimples. And I literally can't stop.
And when I was in 2nd grade, there was this girl I liked a lot, and she liked me too. But I was scared to show it because I had heard people I knew getting teased for having a girlfriend, and I seriously thought that dating someone was bad (unable to pick up on sarcasm/humor is a symptom) so I never asked her out. But I continued to like her until I was in 6th grade. Once, in 2nd grade, we walked around alone while holding hands. It was great, but when a large group of people came walking by, I freaked out and pretended like I didn't know her for a second.
Also, I can't stand to have a routine broken. I am horrified of graduating from high school, because it means that my entire life will change. Earlier this year, when I had to switch to showering immediately after practice because I was getting dry skin, I hated it. I missed showering before bed so badly that sometimes I couldn't even sleep.
When I was little, I was unable to have many friends. I used to sit down by a wall by myself on the farthest corner of the playground because I didn't feel the need for friends. All throughout grade school I had maybe 4 or 5 friends, and it felt like a lot even though I never saw them outside of school. When I was in 4th grade, I tried writing a book (an unusual interest for someone my age, another symptom) and i tried to list all of my friends but could barely come up with any. That year was the first year I had problems with headaches because my teacher literally talked all day. Sometimes I feel like telling my mom to shut up when she's talking. There are more, but I'm out of characters
