Gorillaz (feat. Lou Reed) - Some Kind Of Nature If anybody is into Lou Reed, then they'll be sad to hear that he died on the 27th of Oktober. I haven't been really listening to him, but I heard this song from the Gorillaz and its one of the better.

What's the name of the song where they sing We will rock you over and over again and there's a drumbeat that goes like "BOMBOMBOOOM BOMBOMBOOOM"?
The singer sounds a bit like freddie mercury and there's a solo in the end that sounds a bit like brian may.

Thank you, this has kept me up many nights!

I must say I was disappointed when I first listened through it. Not that it's wrong but I don't like that there's so much acoustic. Murderers is good and this one and there are a couple of other ones as well but I prefer rhcp before his solo!

I swear, I prefer his solo albums, it's just that in RHCP he's expressing but holding himself at the same time.. while alone, even in raw songs like in Niandra Lades, it's amazing

I enjoy death metal and deathcore.

The instrumentals are almost always amazing, but the only thing that really turns off me off of the sub-genre are the death growls and pig squeals.

I'm completely fine with regular growling and screaming but I just can't get into that whole aspect of death metal despite all of my efforts.

Is that more than just an acquired taste?

User avatar #85541 to #85537 - thedudeistheman (10/30/2013) [-]
Broken Bells is James Mercer (the lead singer of The Shins) and Danger Mouse (a.k.a. Brian Burton, who was in Gnarls Barkley, has produced various albums, including a couple of The Black Keys' albums, and made The Grey Album, which took instrumentals and some of the vocals from The Beatles' White Album and a cappella tracks from Jay-z's The Black Album). I really enjoyed their first album, and they released an EP about a year after that, which I also enjoyed. When the new album comes out, it'll have been almost three years since the EP was released, and not much else has happened with them since then, at least to my knowledge.

User avatar #85548 to #85547 - thedudeistheman (10/30/2013) [-]
It's a blend between Jay-z and The Beatles, so I don't know if I could come up with one genre for it. I guess hip-rock/rock-hop, if you just combined names.

Atmosphere or Blackalicious (Both Barely groups)

Vordul Mega has a few songs by himself like that.
Brother Ali kinda fits into that, although I've barely listened to him

If you want to look into the genre, a lot of "southern hip-hop" has that general vibe.

Well, I really think John Lennon was a terrible lyricist, but aside from that, it didn't have much to do with karma, and was seemed to be more about living life (at least that is what I got out of it)

Is it difficult to learn to play the guitar?
User avatar #85559 to #85462 - fladen (10/30/2013) [-]
it isnt difficult but learning the basics can be frustrating at first. but most of it has to do with just your fingers not having the strength/dexterity to move around so thats why it feels super hard at first.

learn the basic major and minor open chords, as well as fret chords. thatll help build muscle memory and all that for your fingers. then from there you can try and learn songs from tabs/ear. depending on whats easier. for me i still cant really figure out songs by ear, but it depends some people can better than others,

i started playing at 17, im 20 now and i can say its not to late to learn, and if anything the sooner you get it down the better.
User avatar #85465 to #85462 - notdjfood (10/29/2013) [-]
It depends on how determined you want to learn to play it.
User avatar #85466 to #85465 - inkfox (10/29/2013) [-]
I know I want to,ever since I heard jimi hendrix playing I decided, but that was about a year ago and still nothing.(I'm 15 so if I start I'll probably be still a young guy by the time I learn)
Yes I am aware that I'll never be a god like hendrix.
User avatar #85467 to #85466 - notdjfood (10/29/2013) [-]

User avatar #85471 to #85470 - inkfox (10/29/2013) [-]
To be honest I haven't.
It just sits In my corner gathering dust and it pisses me off.
#85475 to #85471 - notdjfood (10/29/2013) [-]
Well since you haven't played the guitar at all, you shouldn't expect to be able to play Jimi Hendrix songs right away, you should probably start of by getting a chord book, learning some songs that are in your skill level, learning and memorizing chords, practicing a lot, and then you will advance in skill as time goes by and begin to learn more difficult songs and different techniques for playing the guitar, and pretty much do what you want from there. Or at least that's what I think you should do.
User avatar #85476 to #85475 - inkfox (10/29/2013) [-]
I don't intend to play hendrix straight away I'm just stating he's my inspiration.
