Gonna give my old request one last shot for the record.

Looking for the heaviest metal songs you know outside of death, black, and grind. Genre doesn't matter (apart from the one condition); I'm hoping to put together a well-rounded collection.

Thanks!

Awesome song.....I've been a fan of Ozzy for pretty much my entire life. It's not really the type of thing I had in mind, though; looking back at my last comment, I suppose I worded it a bit badly. I guess it really is something more musically heavy I'm looking for: the type of stuff that gets you thinking about how raw and forceful a song can be without delving into all-out death metal. I might mention later Pantera or earlier Sepultura as benchmarks, but I'm hoping for a wide range of subgenres if I can get it.

I don't personally have a whole lot against them; I'll probably keep them to a minimum when I put together the list because I don't care to set it up for ridicule among metal purists, but if you have a good one to suggest, then I'd like to hear it.

I've got to admit I enjoyed that a lot. From my perspective with putting together the list, though, the trouble with this type of metalcore is that it's stylistically all over the place. One minute it's venturing into the territory of true death or black metal, and the next it sounds like flat-out pop punk. I honestly couldn't tell you where I might fit it into a list of boundary-pushing clean metal, alongside a lot of the thrash, groove, and industrial stuff I've already got on there.

(I know, I'm being kind of hard to please here..... )

Well, let's hear some of them, then ;) Thrash is perfectly fine, by the way; my main criterion is that it have mostly clean vocals.

Well, now I have a new band to keep an eye on ;) I agree with a lot of the comments that their drummer is excellent. It probably is a bit "over-the-line" for my list, but thanks for posting it.

I've never been this not excited for anything in my life.
Is Michelle Obama really supposed to be the star power that will get fatties to listen to the CD? Releasing this album is like telling people to wash their hands to stop the spread of a zombie apocalypse.
What they should do is stop handing out chocolate drink (not even gonna call that shit milk), chicken nuggets and pizza for lunch programs. How will they do that? Make it child abuse for a school board to authorize such non-nutritious lunch's.
They should stop letting corporations and lobbyists control the government and listen to unbiased medical institutions www.hsph.harvard.edu/nutritionsource/pyramid/
god dammit incompetence pisses me off.

Thy Art Is Murder - Hate (FULL ALBUM) (HD1080p) Usually I'm not that into deathcore. There are exceptions however. This is one of them (also see All Shall Perish, Argent Strand and Suicide Silence)
User avatar #76177 to #76030 - aguywithlonghair (08/13/2013) [-]
Man Must Die is also a band you should look into.
User avatar #76186 to #76177 - anonywolftroll (08/13/2013) [-]
Yeah a freind of mine linked those to me once. But I didn't like that to be honest. Was a bit too extreme
User avatar #76036 to #76030 - charac (08/12/2013) [-]
Deathcore is somewhat a guilty pleasure of mine.
All Shall Perish is also one of my favourite bands. What's your favourite album ?
User avatar #76039 to #76036 - anonywolftroll (08/12/2013) [-]
What's yours and why? (should've directly asked that, sorry)
User avatar #76038 to #76036 - anonywolftroll (08/12/2013) [-]
To me, on ATD, every song stands out in it's own way. I don't really have that with TPOE and TIWIE, those have some very nice songs too, but not EVERY songs stands out. On atd they all do...
User avatar #76037 to #76036 - anonywolftroll (08/12/2013) [-]
From ASP or TAIM?
for tiam I can only say the one I posted since it's the only one I know.
For ASP it's Awaken the Dreamers. Mainle the shredding of the guitars (one of their strongest and most unique traits imo) and the great variety in songs, best heard when "memories of a glass sanctuary" is followed up by "stabbing to purge dissimulation".
(less importantly) I think the cover artwork is one of the best I've ever seen, and I really love the fact that there's an instrumental song on it with Rusty Cooley as guest lead guitarist.
#76040 to #76037 - charac (08/12/2013) [-]
Yeah I meant ASP. I haven't really looked into Thy Art Is Murder although I've heard their name before.

Dayum, Awaken The Dreamers is my fav as well. Just an awesome album with no real weak songs. The variety you pointed out is actually one of the things that I like the most. And the slower songs are just so fucking good

I like you
#76041 to #76040 - anonywolftroll (08/12/2013) [-]
Nice! ^^
Yeah, the slower songs are fuckin' beautiful in my opinion. Memories of a glass sanctuary is just so beautiful...

Thanks, I like you too

Oh and thanks for posting Thy Art is Murder, I'm currently listening to "Hate" and I'm loving it.
I think you might like Slice the Cake or Promethee as well (they are both Deathcore bands even though Promethee is more oriented towards Metalcore.

This is pretty nice. Definitely not your average deathcore (cleans, eery guitar-parts)
Reminds me a lot of the "Masstaden" album by Vildhjarta (which I absolutely LOVE)
www.youtube.com/watch?v=9IgaDvsCWTI If you like this song from Slice the Cake, you'll also like this. Alot like it, but even eery-er, darker and heavier (please chek 'm out, they deserve so many more fans)
Oh an sorry for talking so much, but whenever I speak with someone about somehting I like I just keep on rattling and rattling....
User avatar #76045 to #76044 - charac (08/12/2013) [-]
Haha yeah man no problem it's nice to see someone who likes some of your favourite music Also good to hear you like STC, they are a bit strange so I don't bring them up very often
Yeah Vildhjarta are awesome I really need to get that album. I have listened to 3-4 songs and I really liked those (can't remember the song titles except for "Dagger" though)
User avatar #76046 to #76045 - anonywolftroll (08/12/2013) [-]
Yeah, I don't know about their other songs/albums, but right now I'm 14 minutes into the song you linked me and I'm not bored yet, so that's very good
Hahaha awesome, finally someonw that knows and likes Vildhjarta too! By "really need to get that album", do you mean "Buy"? If so, I love you, because I've been anting to do that too for a long while, I'm probably gonna order it at my local alternative CD/LP-store when I've got a bit more money, right now all I had left after buying my new guitar went into pre-ordering "Labyrinth" by "Fleshgof Apocalypse" (totally worth it though, REALLY looking forward to that album)
User avatar #76048 to #76046 - charac (08/12/2013) [-]
Yup I always try to buy the music I want on CD if possible and I think when I get paid in two weeks it's finally time to order "Masstaden". Probably going to order it over the internet but I guess I should look up a CD-store near me sooner or later.
Damn you for bringing up Fleshgod Apocalypse though, now I remembered that I also need to get that album too. And "The Violation". So long "Mafia" will have to do (which is a great EP by the way)
User avatar #76050 to #76048 - anonywolftroll (08/12/2013) [-]
Holy. Freaking. Hell.
Honestly, you like FGA too!? AND you buy Cd's? Well this is just great!
You're the second person I find on this board who has those 2 traits in, like, less than a week... anyways, because I was in such a deathcore/-metal mood I just listened to Mafia not even an hour ago. Definetly a great EP, probably the onle PURE death metal I actually really like and listen to (although it's not a match for Agony and (hopefully) Labyrinth)
User avatar #76049 to #76048 - charac (08/12/2013) [-]
And Holy Fuck what's happening. First All Shall Perish and TAIS then Vildhjarta and Fleshgod Apocalypse. Are you my long lost twin brother or something ?
User avatar #76051 to #76049 - anonywolftroll (08/12/2013) [-]
Yeah man, this is SICK! Well, I absolutely love it, but I also had this with that other person I started talking with about FGA; northard was his name. I'm pretty sure you'll like each other too P.S. Purely out of curiosity, where are you from if I may ask? . I'm from the Netherlands
User avatar #76052 to #76051 - charac (08/12/2013) [-]
Haha nice I wouln't have thought that FGA were that well-known but that's great. I'm from Germany and I live in the western part so the Netherlands aren't actually that far from here. in fact I used to go there on vacation when I was a child.
User avatar #76054 to #76052 - anonywolftroll (08/13/2013) [-]
But, uh hey, I really have to go now, so I'll speak to you later, okay? btw, I was gonna send northard pictures of my CD collection somewhere in the weekend, if you like I can send 'm to you too...
anyways, bye for now ^^
User avatar #76056 to #76054 - charac (08/13/2013) [-]

Damn, nice. I actually live in the most narrow part of Limburg, so I can be in germany (and Belgium) in, like, 15 minutes ^^
btw, I saw fleshgod live a few months ago, in Belgium/Vosselaar. They did a tour supporting SepticFlesh (still my first and foborite symf. death metal band) and carach angren (a great dutch symf. black band) It was absolutely sick!
User avatar #76055 to #76053 - charac (08/13/2013) [-]
SIIICK ! SepticFlesh and FGA is such a killer lineup I wish I would've seen that.
Huh kinda funny to imagina that not too far away there is another person sitting in front of the computer at 2am and talks about metal ^^

Anybody ever heard of Fall of Efrafa? I recently discovered them. Has alot of crust/d-beat elements or Doom.(Neurosis, His Hero is Gone...)

This song right here...it hit me directly like a bomb. It's heavy but there is so much emotions in it...The lyrics, the sound...

Please take your time and listen.

Hahahaha. A few days ago I was just listening to some heavier music (I listen to any kind of metal, from limp bizkit to Behemoth to Born of Osiris to Nightwish) and and came across their album "Hate". I thought it sounded pretty good (only listened the first song then) and faved it for later. 2 days ago I listened it all the way for the first time. Pretty epic, but not really versatile enough for me. But great music for just going wild/loose : )

<----Vildhjarta, Masstaden. Seriously, you won't regret it. [FULL ALBUM] Vildhjarta - Masstaden
