Does anyone know some really good Trance music? Or dubstep? I'm really just looking for something to help me clear my head and allow me to think.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=eNF0VF9oTf8 It's house but I really don't get what you mean by allowing you to think. Is it to clear your head of random thoughts or study music or whatever. Whatever the reason is I would use this song because It's amazing.

Look into John Frusciante's solo stuff. There's such a range of what we does.

Well I know that I just don't know this genre. If I were to say progressive house people would probably not listen to the links and find something that is progressive house and give the link. I can't really be specific on what the genre is unless it's just a different style of progressive house. I just really don't know.
Hey music board, was wondering what you thought of this short clip of me singing. vocaroo.com/i/s08jDsHKF8YO
Be gentle...

Well, I'm not a singer, so who am I to critisise?
I play the guitar and I have a minimal grasp of theory as well (not that it stops me from overcomplicating my songs...).
But still, practice makes perfect. What matters most is feel, even though some knowledge is never a bad thing to fall back on.

My problem is that I just can't seem to figure out what key that's supposed to be in (but like I said, that may very well be my problem, not yours).
I think you've got the voice, for sure, but you could use some more practice.
Ever consider getting a coach?

MSI try too hard to be controversial and write awful lyrics.
ADTR just don't appeal to me in every sense.
Breaking Benjamin and Good Charlotte have an annoying whiny singer.
Job For A Cowboy is literally just white noise.
Papa Roach's songs are just really simplistic, and the singer has a tendency to whine.
Breathe Carolina try to awkwardly blend screaming with pop and fail every step of the way.
Blood On The Dancefloor is, well, Blood On The Dancefloor. They were built to be hated.
