I listened to a band called Drowning the Light, once, kinda neat Black Metal-Stuff, got annoyed, tho, because they kept releasing new demos, eps, splits, etc every second weel. Not to mention the 4 Full Lenghts in 2007 and another 4 in ´09. Seriously, man, what the fuck. The music was pretty neat, but fucking redundant after the first record. Why the hell would you pull that through that many records?
User avatar #106581 - revengeforfreeze (04/04/2014) [-]
Anyway, there's a bad religion song where they sing
"Let's say we try to get this right, said the plutocrat to Jesus Christ
And the old fox fearing the worst, made his entrance in a hearse
Then the nine in black robes all went berserk"
What is this song about? I'm guessing it's the whole table flipping ordeal over at the temple or whatever happened, but I'm not sure
Help? Song's called Robin Hood in Reverse so I'm assuming it's about some kind of corporate thievery too..? Idk.

What I asked: Is this a continuation to another post?
User avatar #106586 to #106585 - revengeforfreeze (04/04/2014) [-]
And I'm wondering why you ask that and what do you define as continuation?
I posted this on another board, then posted it here and editing it a little bit, so I guess you could call it a continuation.

Hey everyone, I just got an Epiphone Les Paul Standard and no guitar amplifier and I want to record it and simulate different amplifiers with software in real time. I was wondering, what will I need to record it? Do I use a USB audio interface and record the guitar signal dry? I'm interested in the Focusrite 2i2 but I've head clipping is an issue, will I need a DI box? How will the focusrite pre-amps affect the tone? Is it better to buy a more expensive USB audio interface or a cheaper one with a DI box? Thanks in advance, your responses are greatly appreciated.

Really a bad name choice
#106570 - anonymous (04/04/2014) [-]

why should you ever invest in a DAC, i don't see the point when you can get RCA - 3,5 in the store for 2$, its only the audio signal and they want you to pay 250$ for that shit
User avatar #106575 to #106570 - misticalz ONLINE (04/04/2014) [-]
If you like analog sound you might want a DAC.

Knowledgable in Musical Theory? Do you listen to, or have extensive knowledge of many genres? Are you an incredibly skilled instrumentalist, able to explain techniques and tricks of your instrument? Do you even play an instrument? Do you honestly believe you have what it takes, to be Musicexplain? could you be so kind as to trace every sample used in this album?
User avatar #106553 to #106552 - musicexplain (04/04/2014) [-]
To be honest my musical theory is probably my Achilles heel, all throughout my musical education I've had trouble with it. I do however listen to a large variety of genres ranging from Jazz to Black Metal which. I do play instruments Bass Guitar is probably my main Instrument but I also play Guitar, Classical Guitar, Piano, Violin and the cello. Just not nearly as extensively as Bass Guitar.

I honestly don't believe I can run music explain on my own mainly because of my theory troubles and the fact I am often doing things for school, bands etc.

The very fact that there's doubt is an insult to his legend.

Dio isn't legendary because of his vocals
User avatar #106492 to #106491 - darksideofthebeast (04/04/2014) [-]
Dio was great, but he was not better than Bruce.

Don't get me wrong, the man had insane power.
But Dickinson had the insane power plus the demon scream plus the same octave range as Freddie mercury.
Oh and also, he studied opera.
User avatar #106493 to #106492 - thebestpieever (04/04/2014) [-]
I agree Bruce has the better range (if not for much) but there's only one man I know with more power in his voice and none in metal.

Dream Theater - Erotomania - HQ / HD
Would you consider Dream Theater Classical Metal or Progressive Metal?
User avatar #106529 to #106459 - musicexplain (04/04/2014) [-]
I'd consider Dream Theater progressive metal.
User avatar #106532 to #106529 - darksideofthebeast (04/04/2014) [-]
True, more of their stuff is more prog than it is classical type
Erotomania however, it is a classical song for sure.

But I think he is one of the best Metal bassist's.

BLACK SABBATH - N.I.B. I honestly think the best metal bassist is the one that started it all. And by extension probably one of the top ten best bassists ever.
User avatar #106461 to #106456 - drldrl (04/04/2014) [-]
While I give him credit for being able to play without getting confused by all those strings, nothing he does has ever really impressed me. Ryan is just holy shit. A bass can make those noises?

Blood & Thunder Bass Cover
Well you know, there is always troy sanders.

He's honestly pretty underrated, when people think of Mastodon they don't think of great bass playing, they think of heavy ass music.

Pretty nice. The dude doing this cover should qualify for this too, he's pretty damn amazing, and the only person I've seen play Ryan's stuff the right way. He started a band but idk where that went. Mudvayne Pharmaecopia Bass Cover

I'll listen to this in a bit, I just started listening to this album as I noticed your reply.
