[Verse 1:]
Gambino is a mastermind, fuck a bitch to pass the time
Mass Appeal, orange rind, smoke your green, I'm spendin' mine
The beat is witches brew, but beware this shit is potent
E.E. cummin' on her face, now that's poetry in motion
Yeah, Gambino make it work, I'm the boss move somethin'
Yeah, this cool fuckin' suits me, swag two button
These girls be actin' crazy when they're dancin', Black Swan
I ain't fuckin' at the club, put your clothes back on
This beat is a disaster, 9/11 this track
Rappers wanna battle me, I have to mail their heads back
And my clique make that dinero, so it's time to meet the Fockers
I am runnin' this bitch, you are just a dog walker
Leavin' with your girl when we last seen each other
You fuckin' with the baddest like we tag team Rihanna
Fly girl on her knees, she don't wanna come near me
My dick is too big, there's a big bang theory
Got her picture in my iPhone, what do y'all think?
While y'all niggas masturbate, I'm in that Ariel Pink
If I am just a rapper man, you coulda fooled me
I'm the shit, when these dudes talk, they talkin' bull me

oh wait, you said black guy lyrics

Yeah I enjoyed Intrinsic, funny enough it still feels new. I started listening to them when they were still touring their first album. Each release has gotten progressively better to me. This one has a great amount of both soft and heavy parts and it's an album I can easily get lost in.
User avatar #129325 to #129323 - themagicwizard (09/19/2014) [-]
I thought it was going to be some chill electronic album, based on the cover. I definitely wouldn't have guessed metal.

I like the cover, at least.

I don't get what everyone seems to like about MF DOOM, I just find his delivery boring
His production is decent at best, Madvillainy was slightly enjoyable because of the Madlib beats
he can have some cool lines but his voice sounds like hes holding in a cough
User avatar #129316 to #129313 - thisismyhandle (09/19/2014) [-]
I think he has some great songs, but I don't think he's one of the best of all time like some people think he is. His delivery does kill a bunch of tracks for me, because it sounds like he is just reading what he wrote into a mic. However, he definitely has his own sound, and when he does it right I think the product is great.
User avatar #129321 to #129316 - derpityhurr (09/19/2014) [-]
i listened to half of Operation Doomsday, didnt find it very good; you think something else by him would change my mind?
User avatar #129329 to #129321 - awesomerninjathing (09/19/2014) [-]
MM Food is widely considered to be his best or second best, swapping spots with Madvillainy usually
User avatar #129322 to #129321 - thisismyhandle (09/19/2014) [-]
I don't think a full project would change your mind. I don't like Doom really at all outside of the songs I like, which are few. I think that his best song by far is Doomsday, but Meat Grinder and Fancy Clown are solid too. You really have to look past his delivery to enjoy almost all of his music (from what I've heard).
User avatar #129314 to #129313 - ultrablue (09/19/2014) [-]
He's different, he's funny, he's clever, he's interesting, he's unique, no one else really sounds like him, he's a character, he uses tons of multi-syllabic rhyme schemes, he doesn't rap over typical beats (whether it's his own or someone else's production).

That's what everyone else seems to like about him.

He can be polarizing, as evidence by your opinion of him. As many people who like/love him there are just as many out there who dislike/hate him. Similar to people's feelings about Aesop Rock.
User avatar #129315 to #129314 - derpityhurr (09/19/2014) [-]
Makes sense, just felt like I was missing something
Aesop Rock was another artist i wanted to listen to, what would you say is his best album?
User avatar #129333 to #129315 - ultrablue (09/19/2014) [-]
Labor Days is the most critically acclaimed so probably that one.

My personal favorite is Float though. They are both pretty similar though. After Labor Days his next three albums all sound really different from each other. All still greatthough imo. He's probably my favorite rapper.

Sup guys,

Got myself a MIDI-controller 2 days ago and I've been trying to find this particular sound
Tame Impala Jam + Elephant Glastonbury 2013

I'm pretty close but I still feel like I'm missing something.
clyp.it/vuvicc3j (not played properly, just testing the sound)
Anyone got suggestions?
User avatar #129288 to #129278 - danrmanalt (09/18/2014) [-]
I wish I had a midi keyboard, cause I have no patience for using my typing keyboard as a musical keyboard, and stuff I make ends up sounding stiffer, I think. Less improvised, you know?
User avatar #129291 to #129288 - stereojunkie (09/18/2014) [-]
Yeah I have used my typing keyboard before as a midi-controller. It's just not the same as having an actual keyboard in front of you.

Other than actually learning how to play piano/keyboard, there's also many more possibilities for adjusting parameters on the go.

The one I got was only like 120$, I'd say it's a worthwhile investment.
User avatar #129317 to #129291 - thisismyhandle (09/19/2014) [-]
What midi keyboard did you get? I've been looking at a few of them, and I don't know how many keys I should get.
User avatar #129318 to #129317 - stereojunkie (09/19/2014) [-]
I've got the Oxygen-49 (pic in the original comment). It has 49 keys (4 octaves) which allows you to comfortably play with 2 hands. You can also shift octaves up or down with one button on the keyboard.

I really like it so far, once you hook it up to the DAW that comes with it, it instantly maps your MIDI controls so it's really noob friendly.

I've never used any of these types of programs or anything or even played keyboard but it's pretty easy to pick up.
User avatar #129319 to #129318 - thisismyhandle (09/19/2014) [-]
Awesome, that's actually one I've had my eye on. Thanks!
User avatar #129280 to #129278 - samoaspider ONLINE (09/18/2014) [-]
I personally love your version better, but try lowering the pitch maybe?
User avatar #129307 to #129280 - stereojunkie (09/18/2014) [-]
I tried playing it an octave lower and I definetly heard some high tones missing.
I just added a type of octaver which brings out both ends nicely.
User avatar #129279 to #129278 - kaisakuenkou (09/18/2014) [-]
it's missing like a wavering vibrato
User avatar #129284 to #129279 - stereojunkie (09/18/2014) [-]
I've already got heavy/fast vibrato enabled, you'd think it might be a phaser I'm missing?
User avatar #129293 to #129284 - kaisakuenkou (09/18/2014) [-]
I'm not good with effects, but there's a weird oscillating sound low in the mix. I don't think it's a phaser, but I'm not sure
User avatar #129295 to #129293 - stereojunkie (09/18/2014) [-]
I just added a phaser, it sounds better now but it's still not there.
I'm more than happy how it sounds though for a low end MIDI-controller and DAW/VST.

Other than that, you should really check out some more of their music, it's incredible.

hey guise, I don't know where to post this, I am looking for a free webbsite to start a radio station, just for the kicks, with some friends, idea would be 2-10 people broadcasting tops, and around 2000 listeners at the very max.

Now I know some time ago there was a FJ radio thing and the guy hosted it on some webpage but I can't seem to find it and it was pretty sweet. Do you guys now any website similar to what I've described?

Hey guys, there was a video posted about a guy in a gang, and he was singing about life in a gang. There was a rival gang member, a crooked cop, and a bystander, and he "shot" them all with a gun and sang "blam, blibity bang" or something like that. It made me laugh and I was hoping someone could remember what I am talking about and if so could point me in the right direction. Cheers
