He was one of the greatest jazz musicians of all time. I'm pretty sure you've heard his song "Take Five".

Dude, Jazz spawned a bunch of music genres like rock, rap, country, and others. Just because it's not as big as it was in the first half of the 20th century doesn't mean that it's not significant, because it's a HUGE part of music history. The death of Dave Brubeck is like the death Steven Spielberg.
It's not even close to being as popular as mainstream music. Do you really think reporters would want to report on the death of an ancient jazz musician? Fuck no, because they know none of their readers will give a rats ass. Why is this so hard to wrap around your head? News sources like ratings, and the get ratings by feeding the mainstream populace the bullshit they want to hear, and they don't wan't to hear jazz? Pretty simple stuff...
Yes popular in terms of music, many musicians and music fans love jazz, I understand that, but the typical jack off doesn't give a damn about jazz, and under that context it is unpopular. I was simply trying to explain to this fine gentlemen why, a jazz musicians death wouldn't be big news... because the average person doesn't care.

You're such a huge faggot you act like electronic music is so hated on here. Plenty of people on here talk about electronica and dubstep sure it may get a few thumbs down cause not everyone is going to agree with it. But it pisses me off you act like you're being singled out cause you like electronic music on here cause its all "metalheads" on here. I'm a metalhead and my posts get thumbed down all the time so stop acting like such a martyr cause you say you like electronic music.
listening to Of Monsters and Men radio
pretty obviously modern folk music
Journey comes on (not just don't stop believing, hardcore Journey)
How did they know??

hey whats a song that is either very uplifting or lets you blow off a lot of song i kinda need one right now
First was "The Black Crusade" which featured Arch Enemy, Dragonforce, Shadows Fall, Trivium, and Machine Head when I was 13.
Best was probably Rise Against, good night, good gig, they played survive and Tom Morello as an opening act was fucking mind blowingsly awesome.

I'd been to several festivals before going to a standard concert (opening act, one or two main acts). One of the earliest shows I can remember is seeing Ok Go at a local festival. I might've been to Warped Tour a year before that or a year after that.
First standard concert I went to was Manchester Orchestra as the opening act and My Chemical Romance/Blink 182 a couple years ago. I missed Manchester Orchestra, unfortunately, but I wasn't too into them at the time. I'm still not a diehard fan, but it'd be nice to seem them at some point.
Favorite concert would be hard to choose. I had a great time at Warped Tour '12 when I saw I Fight Dragons. That was a great show.
