old earphones just kicked it. I need a new pair for my long arse commutes. No preferences over in-ears or not, and the price range is flexible. Thanks in advance!

I suppose I should also have asked whether you want them for listening or recording / production as well.. The ATH-T200s I mention above are good either way, but if you really want a nice pair of production phones you should check out the ATH-M50s.

I have a pair of Audio Technica T200s, they're full ear cover and have great sound for a relatively cheap price so I definitely recommend those. Saw some online for around $24 yesterday.

Hey guys, just , curious. What do you think of Eminem as a person/rapper?
User avatar #131244 to #131203 - mrselfdestruct (10/20/2014) [-]
he's a great rapper.
he's funny, that's one thing.
he isn't the greatest, but he's in the higher category

he did contribute to the horrorcore genre.

he's also the only rapper I've heard of whose uncensored work is still censored.
Like in that song "I'm Back", from MMLP1 where he says "I take 7 kids from Columbine, stand them all in a line. With an AK 47 a revolver a nine". they still censor kids and columbine.
User avatar #131231 to #131203 - darksideofthebeast (10/20/2014) [-]
Seems decent as a person.
But his rap has gone down hill.
User avatar #131219 to #131203 - themanwithnoplan (10/20/2014) [-]
The way I see it he's not the best at anything (except maybe capitalizing on scandal) but he's really good at a lot of things

I'd put him in the upper tier of rappers, and he seems like a bretty cool guy.
#131215 to #131203 - masterofmuffins (10/20/2014) [-]
Despice being the most overrated rapper in history he is really good. He knows how to rap and most important he knows how to write songs. Knows how to make a serious song and also add a bit of humor and simplicity.

I don't really know anything about him as person but doesn't seem bad.
User avatar #131214 to #131203 - thebestpieever (10/20/2014) [-]
As a person, who the fuck knows. I like him as a rapper, he has a big voice so he can carry himself well, I dig him.

Camille Saint-Saëns - The Cuckoo in the Depths of the Woods

I don't know why this spooks me out so much, it's probably to do with the image of this humanoid cuckoo walking through pitch black woods.
User avatar #131843 to #131277 - HolyArachnid (10/25/2014) [-]
I like the piece; it's haunting in that old-fashioned childlike-fever-dream sort of way. The surrealistic imagery does kind of add to that effect, like you said.
User avatar #131240 to #131189 - thebestpieever (10/20/2014) [-]
Pretty much everything by The Paper Chase is pretty eerie and uncomfortable while being catchy at the same time. Like being raped by horribly slimy tentacles but secretly enjoying it a bit.
User avatar #131841 to #131240 - HolyArachnid (10/25/2014) [-]
Here's how I just described this band's sound to a friend of mine: "If you can picture a mix between a fairy-tale Gothic vibe, industrial metal, and Weird Al..." I'm enjoying it a good bit. Doesn't necessarily put the fear of God into me, but there's something about the blend of styles that I find haunting and oddly entrancing at once.
User avatar #131241 to #131240 - shibe (10/20/2014) [-]

User avatar #131839 to #131226 - HolyArachnid (10/25/2014) [-]
Hmmm. I loved that Tactical Sekt song, but to me it sounded more badass than scary. There is some SERIOUSLY disturbing shit in the darker corners of the industrial genre...try some Throbbing Gristle, Einsturzende Neubauten, G.G.F.H., Godflesh, Xorcist, or even some of the more experimental stuff from NIN, Ministry and Skinny Puppy to see what I mean.

Pig Destroyer is a great call, though. They've got some truly deranged stuff in their catalogue, even as grindcore goes.

I post about them way to often but "Lowtide" by O´Death is pretty fucking creepy, especially with the video...
User avatar #131824 to #131197 - HolyArachnid (10/25/2014) [-]
Ah, I liked that one a lot. That off-kilter folk vibe set a nice edgy tone, and the lyrics...it sounds like they're about drowning a woman or something O_____o And that video, too...I really wish to hell more horror films could capture that surreal, nightmarish vibe, instead of just visually aping the Grudge remakes over and over. Good show.

Comus - Drip Drip Oh, and here's something of the same general sort of cloth that was on my original Scariest Songs list...I have the feeling you might enjoy it.

Alright, I'll talk a bit.

I haven't really seen many people talk about the NehruvianDOOM album very much. I just got it the other day and I've been diggin it a lot so far. Maybe people are disappointed because Doom does like 2 or 3 verses on it and the rest is all Nehru. Heh.

Forgot how good that new Erothyme album, Circadia, is. I need to listen to it more. Maybe it could sneak into my top 10 albums this year if I give it more of a chance.

Have Landed by Woob (center left) is still fucking amazing. As is Indefinite by Stanley Ipkuss.

And had to listen to a bit of one of my favorite albums of all time, Greatest of all Lost Arts by Lower Definition, this week. That shit never loses it's gusto.
