Hey /art/ I am hoping someone will be able to help me out, I went and took a few pictures today along the coast. The pictures are a bit iffy however so if anyone is willing to have a look at them and do touch ups on any of the ones you like that would be great or direct towards a tool or software that i can use myself.

best reccomended book(s) on anatomy of humans? for somewhat beginners. recommend more than one if youd like, but tell me the best for drawing all parts of the human anatomy, in different positions, bending, stretching, twisting, yadda yadda. also uh if possible, link me to one without a nude cover. im still in highschool, and i cant go around reading that, people will think im reading porn or something

also, id like one that shows anatomy, but shows which muscles to draw from under the skin. i read a bit of loomis' figure drawing for all its worth, it does well on showing arm muscles, but im pretty sure you wouldnt detail every one of those muscles while under skin. so any tutorials that show which ones (muscles) to include/draw under the skin?

Yeah, i am trying to diverge a bit.
Its my third real try at making anything competent in this software.
Looking back at it i can see that the general theme of the caretaker is kinda bland, id need to make a single design running trough it to make it more scary.
And add more texture to it.

The best thing to do is to draw actual musculature. Find some books like "Anatomy for the Artist". It will give you all sorts of information on muscle and bone structure without all the medical jargon. In order to draw muscles with skin on them, you need to know how to draw bones and muscles without the skin. It's like how you need to draw nude models so you can better show how people look with clothes on them. Humans are a bunch of layers. You need to know what lies underneath.

Afraid not. But most of my books are purchased on Amazon, used, and this one sells used for $13. And it's a big book packed with lots of illustrations so you get your money's worth.

That's the book I have and I've found it useful. Artists like Da Vinci did anatomy work by looking at real dissected cadavers, but with books like this there's no need! Haha. I have a whole sketch book full of anatomical drawings.

Dude, this is DeviantArt we're talking about. The only art thing about this place is in the title.
#65623 to #65587 - anonymous (12/07/2014) [-]
I seriously don't understand this elitism wherever you go on the internet, it's fucking websites, plus deviant has great artist, some of the best in the industry post their free time works there. If you only find shit, it's because you only focus on the shit.
User avatar #65643 to #65623 - aldkai (12/08/2014) [-]
There we go. I say ONE,ONE criticism (and you better fucking believe I have reasons to),and suddenly it's "OH MY GOD ELITICISM". You throw big words around to call others narrow-minded but you are purposedly ignoring the substance of what I said. I've seen a lot of this site, and you assume I "only look at shit". I looked at how the "mods" did their "job" and how the admin was behaving and there's absolutely nothing professional about that. This website is handled like a cash-cow.
User avatar #65596 to #65595 - aldkai (12/07/2014) [-]
Dude, this is nothing compared to cghub. DeviantArt exists to make money and be a forum of bullshit drama, the majority of people there is more concerned about pageviews or e-fame or llamas than actual achievement, and it's not because you have a few professional artists that put their work on there too that it's really living up to its domain name. You may not have been there but I've seen the administrator get into so much drama for banning mods arbitrarily, meanwhile said mods would decide that certain stamps like pro-homosexuality tolerance or pro-abortion stamps had to be taken down or censored while pro-christian bullshit could stay. The frontpages are stuffed with fetishist crap that however don't get moderated out. You got actual nazies in there making hateful journals and somehow the mods are more concerned with petty squabbles between Disney popufurs.

Deviant Art admin loves to talk a lot about how it's the most popular artistic place of the internet but he cares a lot more about subscrition money than anything else.

So don't give me no shit.

User avatar #65599 to #65598 - adunsaveme (12/07/2014) [-]

Even if there was only one person there who genuinely cared about and produced art you would be wrong, and there is, so fite me irl
User avatar #65601 to #65599 - aldkai (12/07/2014) [-]
You just want to say "ur rong",do you actually care yourself.

DeviantArt is not a place to care about if you want to go very far in art. You have to look at your paper and produce. What I am going to do once I finish my can of beans. I used to hang out a lot on DeviantArt for asspats until I realized how it's just a stupid distraction. I'm only there for friends, and for junk that I like to watch or sell shit for money but that don't have necessarily a lot to do with getting me advanced or inspired. CGhub was the one place where all the professionals would hang out and dump all of their concept art until it got taken down for unknown reasons and it's a big loss.
User avatar #65602 to #65601 - adunsaveme (12/07/2014) [-]
well yeah. you were wrong. it makes me hard proving people wrong.

I don't really care about where the professionals went, to be honest. I'm not a professional, nor will I ever be.
While I understand it's a loss, it's not one I feel any need to be particularly bothered about, especially since I have other means of following artists i like.
User avatar #65603 to #65602 - aldkai (12/07/2014) [-]
