Here's the sketch of Korra wearing a maid outfit, scrubbing the floor and saying the aforementioned text

#72773 to #72738 - anonymous (05/24/2015) [-]
Might be the way this maid outfit is designed maybe make it more frilly or lacy or maybe the way Korra is drawn bigger tits man, don't shy away from that sort of thing , but it looks very masculine. As if you drew a male first, decided half way through that you wanted to draw a female instead. Don't get me wrong, I think it looks fine, the shading and style is very good, but it just comes off as awkward.
User avatar #72775 to #72773 - arenaferox (05/24/2015) [-]
well korra already kinda had a built physique, she had muscle.
User avatar #72774 to #72773 - ScottP (05/24/2015) [-]
Yeah, I'm more familiar with male anatomy, and as a result that sort of form is more natural to me. But I knew that Korra was supposed to be pretty muscular as well, which made that balance pretty difficult

I guess asking for time and effort put into just a request for the satisfaction of the requester is a bit much to ask of some, it's open to any takers for their own take on a Shygal using their art style.
But I'm only asking, no need to feel obligated.

At the moment i'm interested in making lino prints. Are there any people out there that have experience with making handprints? I know the best way to print is of course with a printing press. I can use the press in my school but of course i cant use it during the holidays. I was also thinking about investing in a small etchingpress. But i don't know if it is recommended for Lino prints.

The picture is one of my early lino prints i made at school.
#72674 to #72673 - teoyeezy ONLINE (05/21/2015) [-]
Handprinting is easy with a piece of newsprint, a barren, and your paper you want to print on. Just lay your paper on the block, then the newsprint, and rub it in a circular motion with a barren.

Don't invest in a small intaglio press right now. You'll have to buy different blankets and itll be a lot more expensive - and linocut blocks are thicker than etching plates so the pressure will get messed up if its not a high quality press. Stick with handprinting.

Pic is a self portrait linocut I did
#72675 to #72674 - Rise (05/21/2015) [-]
Allright thanks for the advice ! Also do you have a recomendation of what ink i should use?
Nice selfportrait btw !
User avatar #72676 to #72675 - teoyeezy ONLINE (05/21/2015) [-]
This is what I use personally www.danielsmith.com/Item--i-G-284-200
Also, obviously you'll need an inking knife to get it out - just remember not to gouge the ink. always get the ink out by sticking the knife in a little and twisting the ink container so that you leave a smooth surface.
Thanks, it's one of my favorites in my portfolio

Printmaking is my thing, so I'm glad someones finally asking questions about it on the board
#72778 to #72676 - Rise (05/24/2015) [-]
I'm into all kinds of stuff like drawing comics, painting, graffiti but i also really like printing. I really like making linocuts and silkscreen prints. But yeah i don't really have the materials to make Silkscreen prints so at the moment i just make linocuts in my free time.
Do you also have any experience with woodcutting? My brother makes furniture and has all kinds of wood that he doesn't use anymore. So i was thinking on maybe using that to make some prints.
User avatar #72782 to #72778 - teoyeezy ONLINE (05/24/2015) [-]
also, good news for you, handprinting is fantastic with woodcuts. It really captures the woodgrain with the light way the ink is put onto the paper
#72781 to #72778 - teoyeezy ONLINE (05/24/2015) [-]
Absolutely man, I'm focused on printmaking (bookmaking, printing, etc) but I sculpt too, and I also do lots of drawing.
Yeah, woodcuts are great! Here's a two color woodcut I did.
The only thing you gotta remember while doing woodcuts is to go with the grain, and ink lighter. Overinking is a bigger deal with woodcuts because you want to maintain the woodgrain in the print.
