So some nerd is trying to comission me.
Yeah.

What the fuck do I do.
Like what would be a good price for an amateur
General consensus seems to be payment first

I usually do my draws in one session but I think I'll need like 2 weeks to make something I'll actually be happy to give to someone that paid me.

Thoroughly offended, I post here at least 5% as much as groulgarigon
and that's a fuckin lot

I'm pretty terrible, I only started a year and a half ago, and I've since only drawn about 3 things seriously.

Despite that, I think I've done some pretty alright stuff, but mostly through a shit ton of trial and error. Meaning I spend approximately 5 hours on some line art that would have taken one of you approximately 10 minutes, for srs.

I'll post my art tumblr that I just set up as soon as puush stops being a shit and lets me download my files.

This is just one thing I've done, though I've never really gone for a specific style.
There's most of it, bar a few things I don't want seen because they were just practice.

groulgarigon

$6/hour? Hahah, nearly as much as I'd get paid in a dead end job, but it's actually fun. I appreciate that.

I was planning on charging like £5($7 or something) and pushing him for some free advertisment. He's a youtuber or something.

I don't want to simplify the idea of art styles because I don't understand them at all, but I'd like to think I'm in a position to go for most any style, since I'm good at none. The only parts I'm intimidated by are "waist up" because I can't people body do, and full colour, because detail in a situation like this scares me.

If this is your first one go with whatever feels right. There's no possible way you'll have a frame of reference. Just set yourself up for this: Your first commission will be a train wreck of bad decisions. You'll make a bad decisions on the price, bad decisions on the time frame for completion, bad decisions on the final quality. Everything. Even so I recommend doing it. The more you do the better an idea you'll get of where you stand and what you're worth.

If you like, you can show me your stuff and I could give you a rough estimate. Also let me know how quickly you draw.

You don't have to worry about taxes (at least in America) until you go over $10,400. Before then you are under the amount that you are payed until you actually owe taxes. I don't know how it do in the UK. I'd recommend looking it up because the Federal Reserve is a milking slut and will take money from whoever they can get it from.

Slow progress being made on the Moonflow from FFX. Moon lilies and pyreflies will be the final additions along the coast. I like the variance I have in the grass since I haven't had much progress in blending colors like that before, and the tree clusters turned out better than expected. I suck at clouds, I know. I'm sorry. But the greys and umbers did help a little, by adding shading... Still, I can't get them right... Oh well. They're better than the last ones, and the next ones will be better too. Such is experience!

Hmmm.... this is more a color theory thing. But you want to reduce the green in any painting you do. Green is universally agreed as an unsightly color. Lighten it up with a little bit of blue and darken it with a bit of red and ocre. Also the color of water is hardly ever blue. Water is reflective and refractive. Sky is blue then it will reflect blue sky but not 100% so reduce the saturation. Then on the falls the would be more white. Also falls on their own is a bit boring. Add some rocks in there to give us something interesting to look at.

Also as things go further in the background the atmosphere distorts it, reducing both chroma and value and making colors more pastel or closer to white. Good luck!

It's not a fall, just a river. I fucked up the angle in the beginning because I forgot to leave room for the sky so honestly the entire thing went downhill from the start. Lol. As for the greens, sorry, but such is the color of Spira. No idea what chroma and value mean as well, I'm seriously new to painting and none of the terminology means shit to me, so I'd need clarification on that.

13 years later and I'm not over this cartoon, god damn it.

I can't really bring myself to draw lately so I've gotten in the habit of doodling out old things.

When I was 13 or something I had a thing with a bunch of ghost characters. Scrapped the whole thing when I was 15 or so.

I kinda miss some of them, but hell if I know what I'd do with them now.

You could draw like 10 lines in no specific context and they would be still elegant/hot as fuck

Kind of looks like a rip off of the ghost girl from this video.

yo what are some good artist tutorial books focusing on human anatomy? not the insides just outsides. I'm currently using ''Anatomy for the artist'' by Sarah Simblet but i just want something with more content if that makes sense.

whatchu mean not the insides just outsides? thats not what anatomy is at all. try figure drawing for all its worth, andrew loomis. other good anatomy and figure drawing masters are hampton, bridgman, vilppu (i dont think vilppu has any books)
