I'm having a hard as fuck time with this head, I don't know if it's the head itself or my shit skill at drawing a decent face.

Anyone wanna give an example?

Gave my hand at it, the tough part here is imo the shoulders.

The thing with your head is that the construction I thinks. Try to consider how the neck connects to the back of the neck. Don't focus on the jaw yet. Like, especially with animu style the shape of the jaw is fairly easy and efficient to just feel out. Like, just slap it on after you got the skull down (sphere that connects to the neck). Unless the angle is weird like below where the bottom of the jaw is visible - /ic/ would fuck me up if I said this there - you don't really have to construct the jaw.

Also draw through the form. Like the collars in the costume, leave them visible while you try to nail the head down so you don't get lost

also buff girls don't have to have masculine proportions (wide shoulders).

more info.
As always with projects, add a quick outline, like genre, style you are going for, future plans.
If you don't want to make the whole idea public, that's fine, you can do detail discussions in PMs/Skype/Hangouts or whatever, but you can't advertise without showing anything.

Well there is two different stories for two different art styles. I guess I should have gone with that. Anyhow one is an American-esq super hero comic called Shockwave. The main charterer is a high-school kid who received the power to manipulate electrical energy after being struck by a power line and a lightning bolt simultaneously. The overload of energy caused his nerve systems to generate much higher amounts of electricity than the average human. The other one is a manga. The main character gets struck by a green bolt of lightning I like lightning sue me in a freak storm that gives him and others powers. His powers consist of energy barriers and projectiles.

Progressive doesn't mean SJW and to ease your mind I happen to be black. I just don't like writing about black people being the main character because anything that goes wrong in the story actual SJW's will ruin it for everyone. Its better for them to go boohoo the main character is white how racist and then find out that the author is black and have them scrabble to find something offensive. Also I never experienced any real hardships so I wont write about them because I know I'll do a bad job about it. This comic will be a first for me so I am not going to go and write about something I have no experience with. It would be better for me to do things like that when I have both grown as a writer and been able to at least talk to people with said experiences and get a much more genuine story.

Well no where near as bad as progressiveness likes to be now. I really like static shock and it did push the boundaries but stayed sensible, I however have no desire to write about the problems static wrote about. Mainly because I know I couldn't do it as good as static does.

What the plan is with Shockwave is that it starts as happy go lucky kid who gets these powers and thinks its awesome but progressively realizes that it sucks to be a super hero as it gets darker and darker.

Static got darker and darker for a different reason than I am going. Static got darker and darker because it started showing things like homeless hardships racism and his best friend being ostracized because he was gay. I am planing on going darker and darker because Ill have shock-wave mess up and have things go wrong to the point that he looses people close to him. I don't think static lost anyone close to him other than his mother but his mother died when he was younger. Static became dark and gritty because of the environment Shockwave will become dark and gritty because of him basically being incompetent.

I have no idea what you mean. How do I write a picture? I am decent at poetry, I have wrote a lot of it over the years, but there is a major difference in art forms, you can paint a picture with words, but it's not the same kind of illustration. Especially when the images I dream up aren't "artsy" they're visceral, cool looking things. For example, the drawing I want now is of warriors from different eras on a battlefield together, like half of them storming a beachhead, and the other half defending it. Having a fully geared up Marine, next to a knight in full armor, next to a viking weilding an axe, charging up towards a pillbox with machine guns firing down, an archer behind the box in a trench firing a longbow over the top with a cannon and a small missile truck and even a futuristic laser unit on the field. And a caption something like "war may change, but what it takes to be a warrior never does.

I'm trying to help you figure out this idea through different mediums of art. I get that visual art is more appreciated than written, but you should play to your own strengths instead of relying on other's to do it for you. You could write out the picture as a poem or a story, talk about the emotions of the soldiers through different eras, that would be interesting.

I could write it some way, I'm sure of that. My family was always big on reading and writing, but not so big on drawing. I tried for a while to learn to draw, given my natural talent at it, or lack thereof, it would be very difficult to get anywhere with it, and ultimately not worth my time to do. I am sure there are art "producers" that just feed ideas to artists and see what sticks, that's more or less what I'm attempting to do now, find an artist that has the equivalent of writer's block, looking for a new idea to draw. Maybe someday when I'm not preoccupied with learning other things, I will teach myself to draw, or edit photos to get the same effects, just not right now. I appreciate your input though.

bottom half looks a lot more two dimensional

like that left leg doesn't look as far forward as it should be

Yeah, I think the problem lays in the legs, the floor isn't clear so the feets looks weird like floating and I believe that you did one extra joint in the fingers that doesn't look right.

The weapon looks fucking cool though, that metalic look

Hey there art board, i have a request.
I have been here for a while now, sharing my art, but recently, i got my final school assignment. The assignment is pretty wide, so i can do a lot with it
So i am making an animation, but i am really bad at backgrounds.
If someone would want to help me i would greatly accept it.

Nah, schoolwork is your work.
Unless you're tested as a director/cutter/anything not directly involved in creating the visuals, I wouldn't get outside help for official stuff.

However, if you want tips, tutorials and workarounds, i am more than pleased to help you.

For backgrounds, look at sketxh comics, they usually barely have a background, but with some suggestive shapes you can easily imply one. As for action scenes, while cheesy, the flashy light backgrounds animes use have a reason they are used so often.
