So much Hentai Ouji to Warawanai Neko.

I know I'm gonna dislike this anime and the fact that it is so much discussed means that it's prolly gonna sell. Which means more of this kind of stuff.

Its been quite a while since I made a mini-review. So I decided to do another with Season 1 of Amagami SS, which I just finished. I decided to do this because of how unique this anime is.

Introduction: Amagami SS. One of the few anime that separates the series into individual alternate arcs. The first thing the viewer would notice is that all the girls are normal. Normal colored hair and less stereotypical personalities. The thing that caught my eye the most was the art style. Every single character in this looks gorgeous and pretty so it was a hard task picking Best Girl before watching the actual anime.

Story:
Arc #1 Haruka Morishima: By far the best arc in the series. Morishima-senpai is a unique character. Very cheerful, charming, pretty, insensitive, insecure and eccentric. A lovable character with a great personality that just suits Junichi best IMO. Her arc had no drama. 4 episodes we could enjoy her unconsciously teasing Junichi, developing feelings and expressing them in the cutest ways. Oddly this gave me a back-of-the-knee-kissing fetish. At the end, the uncertain innocent little girl broke in tears as she confessed her love and was loved back. And 10 years later they're still as lovey-dovey as always, this time as husband and wife. Bravo! Tres Bien! 10/10 arc.

Arc #2 Kaoru Tanamachi: After having my expectations raised by the first arc, I felt slightly disappointed by this. We can't deny that Kaoru is one of the prettiest girls in anime, especially with that wavy hair which is surprisingly rare in anime these days. Her arc was basically insecurity and nothing else. She's always been on great terms with Junichi and after he motivated her to quickly resolve the melodrama involving her mother, causing her heart to beat faster, she realizes her feelings and eventually expresses them. Nothing that made this arc stand out but it was definitely cute and heartwarming.

I'm gonna watch it for sex hair and i'm liking her the most.

Arc #3 Sae Nakata: I expected nothing more than a cute puppy-girl. Generic moe girly with big oppai meat. Surprisingly her arc was enjoyable. Instead of being repetitive with her training to be a waitress, each time something awkward happened. The change of cloths, erotic fish, lewd wind and other nose-bleeding experiences for Junichi that made me chuckle. What I dislike about it was how forgettable this arc is. I literally have no idea how it ended, and I just watched it two days ago.

Arc #4 Ai Nanasaki: As the preview of her arc mentioned, a "tough girl". I instantly said to myself "The tougher they are, the cuter they are when they break." And I was right. Starting off with Junichi looking up her skirt, one would think things wouldn't go smoothly with her because of her cold personality, while she turned out to be the most daring of all girls, as she confessed naked in a hot spring at the end. Throughout the 4 episodes Ai constantly teased the poor guy and began to hang out with him more. I like the piece of realism in this. Nothing much more to say.

Arc #5 Rihoko Sakurai: WHAT IS THIS BULLSHIT?! 4 episodes of a chubby girl eating and eating and eating, then she doesn't even confess. She achieved nothing! Gained weight, lost her position as president of her club and couldn't get the job done with Junichi. She remained a childhood friend. Moral Of The Story: Fat people never win. It was awful.

Arc #6 Tsukasa Ayatsuji: So much potential, gone to waste. After 21 episodes, it was all revealed. The conspiracy, the big fat lie that Ayatsuji has been hiding! A major sadist.... who broke easily in 5 minutes. I like cold characters like her but she fell for Junichi too easily. It takes dog pee and a piggyback ride to fall for a guy. On top of all this arc had the most drama, something that I don't see fit in this anime. Her story with Onee-chan was never explained and her obsession with Christmas was kind of stupid. She surrounds herself with walls.

Walls that hide who she really is, and then walls to keep Junichi distant. But at the end those walls broke down and she confessed her love and all was happy. 10 years later the bitch cut her hair short, giving her a major minus on my side, though her daughter was cute.

Arc #7 Risa Kamizaki; The Arc Of Hell: This was painful. The worst possible episode and the worst possible ending. Risa Kamizaki is the biggest cunt I know, and you might say whatever you want about Makato but this BIYATCH can't compare. She ruined every arc possible. Yes, all 6 possible arcs sabotaged. Hurt feelings everywhere. Then she confesses to Junichi and dates him in secret so she doesn't look like a bitch, which is obviously is! Then we find out that she is the reason he was dumped 2 years ago. That is 2 years of Junichi's romantic life gone to waste and how does he react? He says he loves the girl. Her acts are unreasonable and selfish. She hurt everyone out of her own jealousy. And why does she love Junichi? BECAUSE HE FREAKING DRANK HER MILK IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL! Fuck this anime.

Overall: I have mixed feelings for the anime but it was mainly greatly executed. It had potential for a 10/10 but the small flaws, plus that absolutely grueling last episode lowered my score to a 9/10.

So at the end: Who is best girl? I can easily say Morishima Haruka, but I'll judge from different perspectives now:

As the main girl of the arc:
Morishima > Nanasaki > Kaoru > Ayatsuji > Sae > Rihoko >>> Risa

As a side character:
Morishima and Hibiki > Kaoru and Umehara > Rihoko and her senpais > The teacher > Sae and Miya
User avatar #587762 to #587707 - ifuckedyou (04/04/2013) [-]
For me Haruka's arc is the most distinguished of all,it's simply a spring of joy and it gets better in the + Plus sequel, also she's the girl that steals the show even when she's a side character.Ai's arc is special because of her personality and I like how she plays with Junichi, teasing him. I like Tsukasa's arc mostly because of her cynical personality. Sae's arc is just for the fan service. Rihoko's arc is boring,no progress at all,but Ruriko and Manaka add some fun parts to it. Kaoru can't be called a girlfriend. The best way to describe Risa's arc is: "but wait, there's more !"
Hibiki and Umehara deserve their own arcs.
Miya and Hibiki are the best side characters, imo.

Ai>Haruka=Tsukasa>Sae>Kaoru=Rihoko>Risa

Also let me know what you think after you watch the sequel.

Bean Bag Buccaneers is a two player children's game, the object of which is to pick up your treasure chest on the central island and sail back safely.

Each player has a giant sailing ship as their main game piece. Each ship has a removable sail, two trigger-action side panels, and a huge spring-driven cannon. Players take turns moving forward along a prescribed track and shooting bean bags at their opponent's ship. A hit on one of the side panels will force it to pop off and give the player a free shot at the other side; a hit forcing the sail off becalms the ship for a turn.

To add to the pirate flavor, each player also has an eye patch. Wearing these will slightly affect depth perception and add a marginal bit of sport to the shooting.

This game retailed for the somewhat impressive sum of $16 back in 1962. With its huge plastic ships (close to a foot long), giant vinyl play mat, and the eye patches, it may well stand as one of the more overproduced games of the early 1960s.
