Factoid...a statement that appears to be a fact because it was published over and over and gets accepted as being factual...but actually it is not true at all. That is what the above 'Lil Bastard' story is all about. Nothing is really true here. 1. No mechanic's legs were ever crushed. 2. Dr. Troy McHenry was killed in a race at Pomona in Oct. 1956, but did not have or use James Dean's engine. 3. Dr. Wm. Eschrich who bought the wrecked Porsche of James Dean was involved in a shunt at Pomona, but was not injured at all. 4. No tires were ever sold from James Dean's Porsche...no one experienced a blow out 5. No. truck driver was ever killed hauling the carcass of James Dean's Porsche to an exhibition. All made up by George Barris in his 1974 book, Cars of the Stars. Some real fact checking would bear this out. See: _ Death of James Dean___ in Wikipedia en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_of_James_Dean Lee Raskin, JD Porsche historian/author, James Dean at Speed, 2005.

Green, however, has repeatedly denied that such a segment exists.[8] He mentions the rumor in his 2004 autobiography, Hollywood Causes Cancer, stating that it started when some Boston teenagers were caught videotaping themselves performing that particular stunt and, when asked by security, they used the name "Tom Green". Green says, "I would never do a mean-spirited, anti-Semitic joke like that - it's both abhorrent and not funny...To this day I still get asked about it, and it's annoying. So again, for the record, it didn't happen. There is nobody on this planet that has ever seen this bit on tape because it does not exist. If it did exist, it would have certainly reared its ugly, hateful head on the Internet by now. But it won't, because it doesn't exist. I've never put on a Hitler costume. In fact, I've never even been to a Bar Mitzvah."

wait, so are these true? Pretty sure I have heard some of these stated as fact. If these are true why are you labeling them as myths? I don't get it.

My dad has the steering wheel of dean's car in our garage. It's gotta be haunted, I hear engines revving from the garage every night.

Myth; A widely held but false belief or idea.

I remember a while back some other person did the same thing. He posted comps of what were false but popular beliefs (myths) and a bunch of butthurt commenters were insisting that they were false, what the title had already stated.

Did not know some members of the FJ community could be so stupid.

I thought you meant they skinned William Shatner's face and war the actual face in the movie. I am not a clever man.
