I usually don't care, but seriously people, what makes this front page worthy?
it is a generic sad story, I've seen its equivalent many times on this site.
It is only funny if you laugh at paraplegics.
it is detrimental from a social aspect, its giving the idea that he can only give his mother pride if he can win a medal.
OP didn't give any indication to this being at all (or based on) a true story, so it isn't a feels thumb story.
