"5000kr corresponds to aprox. $744, wich is kinda stupid."

It says 43 dollars in the damn picture. You can't even read an image you're reposting?

Well Icelandic Krona are a whole lot lower than Norwegian, Danish or Swedish. Danish being the highest. OP calculated the conversion from 5000 Swedish Krona to US Dollars, which gave him $744. But the picture on the other hand, which shows $43, was converted from 5000 Icelandic Krona. If the guy who converted to $43 is really telling his own story, then he's from Iceland and OP needs to know his Kronas. Don't make him feel too stupid, it could've just been an honest mistake.

5000 kr is currently 39,68$ dollars
User avatar #11 to #8 - thecratcher (04/27/2012) [-]
Umm no.

1 kr = 0,15 USD
0,15 * 5000 = 750 USD

5000 kr = 750 USD

Now just for fun let's see how much 39,68 USD is in Kr.

1 kr = 0,15 USD
39,68/0,15 = 264,5 Kr

39,68 USD = 264,5 Kr

These numbers are of course approximate.

I don't think you're understanding the concept of Kronas. There are four different countries that apply to this concept. A lot like USA, Canada, Australia and Hong Kong using the dollar. Danish, Norwegian and Swedish Krona are on a whole lot higher level than Iceland. Which is why it shows the bill came down to $43.00, well, technically, now it's gone down to like 39 bucks. OP converted Swedish Kr to US $. Which is why he wrote $744. He just didn't do good enough research.
User avatar #94 to #48 - thecratcher (04/28/2012) [-]
I would have used Icelandic Krona but I couldn't find the conversion rate for it. This is why I used a medium between the Swedish Krona and the Norweigan/Danish Krona. If I would have been able to find the conversion I would of course have understood that the original amount was in ISK.
