Single player. As far as weapons, the only ones I've managed to kill him with are the Lagia sword, royal claw, and the Thunderclap.

Well for a tail cut get that in the beginning and use shock traps to do so. Remember to use traps when the monsters are exhausted so you can score major hits. Since you will be using a long sword try to get it to level 3 in its spirit power so you can max damage, but if you find yourself running out just stick to level 2 instead. And your SnS (Sword and Shield) won't cut it for tail cutting at all, have to use the long sword and focus on the overhead swing or get on the greataxe/greatsword train and use that for tail cuts as they provide the best damage to cuttable areas, usually.

As for tracking him, I assume it all about him moving around and not zoning out. If it is a zoning out issue just hit him with paintball and you'll be fine, if its a tracking his movement then you've got to just make sure you're fallowing his shadow in the air, dodge rolling, and generally always moving. Also make sure you are using a classic controller as a wiimote is horrible for the game.

Honestly I think it's kinda overrated, the characters look too hyper realistic but just a little off, especially when they talk which makes them look kinda creepy, the gameplay is pretty repetitive, better than Fable's, but still kinda boring, and I really don't like Geralt as a character. What's nice about it is that it's an RPG that isn't afraid of showing sexual content, probably due to it being a European game, most American companies are afraid to show any amounts of sexual content and they always get censored out if it's a Japanese game, and the world is really detailed and it looks really good, you can always find something neat. But it's pretty difficult unless you can find the best gear, which you may need a walkthrough for. I'd give it about a 7/10.
