Playing alone is pretty average, but the group missions, boss fights, and world events are crazy awesome.
I would upgrade your pc before getting it, i got lagging pretty bad when the fight got really heavy with over 100 people.

Konrad wasn't an insane ubermensch, convinced of his own righteousness, conducting illegal operations to take down a country, he was a disillusioned man who finally decided to take matters into his own hands and was trying to do the right thing. It draws some parallels in the roles people take in the story, but that story is mostly delusion on Walker's part anyway.

A new character? I dunno, Phantom Pain takes place right after Naked Snake blew up the Shagohad and completed his mission. Now he's hospitalized and the hospital is being attacked, most likely someone trying to finish off an incapacitated and unarmed Big Boss, and who would have the motives and resources to go after Big Boss aside from Volgin? We never SAW him die on-screen and Kojima really is the type to bring back old characters with a simple "nope, he lived" (see Raiden for details)

No one who's after Big Boss at this point in the timeline has the power to front an attack like we saw in the trailer except Volgin, and he's DEFINITELY got motive, so if it's a new character than the devs have some unnecessary explaining to do. Besides, the buttons, gloves, boots, hairstyle and even eye placement correlate, not to mention after Sundowner from MGR Revengeance, Kojima's not gonna make even more tall trenchcoat-y types =P

I vaguely remember Paz in a split second cutscene. She looked quite a bit older though. I hope she's in it though, she's the only character from Peacewalker I actually liked.

But yeah, Kojima is that kind of guy, he even tweeted that he brought back a character he killed earlier in 2012. But Volgin lost the Legacy, remember? And his base was nuked by The Boss, so he probably lost most of his soldiers. And i think Cipher (Zero) is the one who attacks MSF Mother Base, they even talk about him in Peace Walker.

And Kojima has already confirmed there will be a lot of new characters, he said so in the interview with Geoff Keighley or something like that, so it wouldn't be "unnecessary explaination". The hairstyle isn't even remotely the same, if you look closely, you can see what looks like horns or spikes in his head.

Yeah, he's got horns but that ties in with the whole dream-sequence idea. The devil horns on Volgin, that big whale near the end, maybe even the amputated limb could all be metaphorical and symbolic moreso than ACTUAL events/details/objects, which half strengthens the Volgin idea (he was the big bad guy in MGS3) but honestly weakens in it in my opinion, because Volgin just wasn't a big enough deal to warrant being portrayed as the Devil, right?

Wasn't it confirmed that they somehow both make up Metal Gear Solid V? Or is that the situation and Ground Zeroes is a prologue chapter? He's got a character that looks the same, is in the same timeline, has the right motives, and could logically be doing what this character is seen doing. So Volgin is just the logical choice.

I wonder if sales will differ much now that it's coming out at the end of Q3. They might be ok because they won't have to go up against the typical holiday fare, but September seems to be when more games come out. Summer always seems like a dry spell to me, which is why I think Rockstar had much success with that time frame, because there was not much else to play.

Whatever the case i'm more than looking forward to it, and i'm sure Rockstar will deliver in full.
