www.gamespot.com/news/microsofts-new-two-step-verification-will-work-with-xbox-360-6407207
Microsoft is enhancing security across its services, including Xbox Live, by enabling optional two-step authentication for Microsoft accounts. Two-step verification uses a mobile phone number or alternate e-mail to supply an additional code when logging into an account. While the Xbox 360 will not directly support two-step verification, Microsoft will allow users to generate a unique password to access their Microsoft accounts from the console.
Microsoft says its overall objective is to unify many devices together underneath one user account.
The option for two-step verification should go live on users' accounts in the next few days, says Microsoft. "Two-step verification is a great tool to help protect your account, but it does require you to be careful to keep your account up to date. If your security information changes (phone or alternative email), it’s important to update your Microsoft account before you get rid of the old info," wrote Microsoft's Eric Doerr in a statement.

A former Frontier Developments designer has shared new art and information for Microsoft Zoo, a game with an aim of taking Microsoft's Zoo Tycoon franchise in an "exciting new direction" before it later became Kinectimals. Graphical user interface lead Anil Glendinning wrote on his website (via NeoGAF) that Microsoft Zoo was a third-person adventure game that was part zoo creation and part animal interaction. His website has since been pulled down for "maintenance." Microsoft Zoo laid the groundwork for Kinectimals, one of the first pieces of software Microsoft used to show off its Kinect technology.

Any one here play "path of exile" its really good its a f2p diablo but in my opinion its better
that game was way too short :s Got nearly all the infusions and beat it in like 6 hours... good story but wayyyy too short for its time.
No, you just might not get some little references. The only thing that actually has anything to do with the originals is one area at the end of the game when you are in the original Bioshock city, but you leave 5 seconds later.

Getting tired of playing any map on KF other than Aperture or West London.
farm is okay, i guess

So, I finally beat the ladder in Mortal Kombat 9 with all of the characters (went much faster when I switched to very easy). Now to master Smoke and do the last...220 challenges in the tower. Single player content is the only factor of this game that I like better than MvC3.
Does anyone here have MK9 on Xbakks? I want to fight a real person online but I'd rather not start with randoms who will rape me viciously.

You complaining about Quebecois on Black Ops 2 is how you even found out I was Quebecois too
I don't have and have never played Blops2. Plus, Toronto.
Don't worry, it's not your fault.
You are Quebecois, after all.
You are Quebecois, after all.
Yeah, that's why I was asking for someone to spar with.
In Dark Souls, does your weapon deal less and less damage when it's durability lowers?
Or do you reach zero before that?
Or do you reach zero before that?

www.gamespot.com/news/illinois-library-rejects-request-to-stop-stocking-m-rated-games-6407234
Residents of Elmhurst, Illinois will not be barred from borrowing M-rated games at their local library. The Chicago Tribune reports that Elmhurst Public Library officials this week shot down requests from a group of residents seeking to change the library's policy, citing no connection between violent games and violent behavior. "There's no evidence I can see between these games and violent behavior," library director Mary Beth Campe told the paper.
She and other board members said they believe the inclusion of M-rated games in the library's catalog is a matter of freedom of expression, protected under the First Amendment. At a meeting Tuesday, citizen group speaker Jim Schuetz said the group was not seeking a ban on the games, but rather wanted the library to "implement selection criteria and procedures" for the games the library chose to make available. He said he was motivated to take action after President Obama called on citizens to take steps to reduce gun violence in the United States following the Sandy Hook shooting in December.
According to Campe, materials chosen for the library--including M-rated games--are selected on the basis of online sources of popular material as well as community requests. Such an approach leaves room for contestable material, but this is nothing new, a board member said.
"Some citizens consider Harry Potter or Fifty Shades of Grey objectionable," board member Jan Vanek said. "We are in a culture of violence, but it doesn't start in the public library." The Elmhurst Public Library stocks E, T, and M-rated games, but no AO titles. According to the Chicago Tribune, the library requires anyone checking out an M-rated game to provide identification proving they are 17 or older and self-checkout is not allowed for these games.

Hey, my Gramma lives in Elmhurst. I visit every year. She used to work at that library and I've been there a bunch of times.
There are libraries that lend out games?
Does anyone have the picture of Peach going through her vibe island mood swings where the green one she asks "Who wants cake?" If you have it, you'll know which one I'm talking about.
Hey VGB, just bought LA Noire and Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning on Steam. Can you tell me how they are?
Also planning on buying the Prototype games later tonight when steam lets me buy stuff again.
Giving away Bioshock Infinite and Skyrim this Saturday at 5 PM EST

Kingdoms of Amular feels more like a test than a game, the gameplay is great, lot of different weapons and playstyles, the environment looks really nice and is huge, but the story, not really there.
Nigga where did you get so much money, you start dealing weed?
Kingdoms of Amalur is kind of a crap shoot it had the play style of an mmo as well as the weak uninspired story telling of one without the social benefit of being an mmo.
L.A. Noire on the other had is a great game, it delivers a great story while giving the player choices that can effect that same great story. If gameplay is more your style you may find Noire a little lacking.

No biggie, I've been planning on giving back to VGB for a while, plus I missed the anniversary a few days ago
LA Noir's a pretty good story-driven game. It's definitely not for everyone.
Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning is a mixed bag.
It had potential to be amazing but ultimately ends up feeling repetitive and the world feels empty at times, as the game was originally intended to be an MMO.
But it has some fucking awesome sound design.

I've played through LA Noire once before on the consoles, thoroughly enjoyed it. Wanted to see how it is on PC, wouldn't mind playing through it again
Thanks for your input though

I was reading the patch notes for Borderlands 2 and noticed this one.
Added a new automatic backup feature -- the game will periodically create a backup of your current character so that there is something to fall back on if your character save becomes corrupted.
Gee, that would have been helpful a while ago when my fucking entire game decided to shit itself and delete all my skins, character heads and a large amount of badass ranks.

Yeah, but it seems like something you should probably put at the start, from the day it launches, so it doesn't happen period.
is there a story for hitman absolution where i have to play the earlier games? or if i just get absolution without playing the earlier ones, will i be fine?
looks like i'll be selling my xbox after all. also, i managed to get skyrim working which is cool, but it runs at literally 3fps so it looks like i need to upgrade my graphics card.
should i get this: tinyurl.com/d5d7q87

Inb4 i get my tinyurls mixed up. inb4 the more expensive card. the reason for the cheap one is that i can get that and a decent mouse and maybe even a keyboard

Microsoft sold 261,000 Xbox 360 units in the United States during March, the company announced today, citing data from the NPD Group. The platform was the top-selling console in the region during the month and has been the top US performer for 27 straight months. Total retail spend on the Xbox 360 (hardware, software, and accessories) came in at $402 million, the most for any console in the US. Life-to-date Xbox 360 worldwide sales currently sit at 77.2 million. Microsoft said earlier today that it sold 1.3 million systems during the past three months and reiterated that Xbox Live membership stands at 46 million. Sony and Nintendo have not announced sales for their platforms. The NPD Group will announce full March sales later today.

Microsoft sold 1.3 million Xbox 360 units in the past three months, helping the platform's total install base reach 77.2 million across the world since the console launched in November 2005. The 1.3 million consoles sold during the quarter is down 9 percent year-over-year.
The company announced the new milestone today as part of its latest financial report today for the three months ended March 31. Microsoft also reiterated that Xbox Live has over 46 million members, an 18 percent surge from the year prior. Overall, Microsoft's Entertainment and Devices division, which encompasses Skype and Xbox, saw revenue rise 56 percent to $2.53 billion. The division's operating income grew, but was offset by increased research and development expenses, which jumped by $113 million (28 percent) primarily reflecting higher headcount-related expenses.

Demo was pretty cool.
Annoying victory scenes, they felt longer than the actual fights themselves.

www.gamespot.com/news/npd-bioshock-infinite-soars-to-top-spot-in-march-us-sales-6407248
BioShock Infinite was March 2013's top-selling title in the United States, according to data from the NPD Group published today. Overall industry sales slid 10 percent during the month to $992.5 million.Rounding out the month's top five titles were Tomb Raider, Gears of War: Judgment, God of War: Ascension, and Call of Duty: Black Ops II. Of note, all top ten titles for March were sequels. NPD Group analyst Liam Callahan explained in a statement that the $992.5 million in total sales equals only about half of the true market spend for the month. "When you consider our preliminary estimate for other physical format sales in March such as used and rentals at $190 million, and our estimate for digital format sales including full game and add-on content downloads including microtransactions, subscriptions, mobile apps, and the consumer spend on social network games at $670 million, we would estimate the total consumer spend in March to be just under $1.9 billion," Callahan said.
Hardware suffered in March, with "deep declines" of 32 percent in dollar spend, with stronger downturns for portable hardware than for traditional consoles. The Nintendo 3DS was an anomaly, with sales for the platform growing 9 percent year-over-year.
The NPD Group does not disclose specific console sales data, but Microsoft announced today that the Xbox 360 sold 261,000 units during March and was the top-performer for the period. Sony and Nintendo have not made any sales data available.
Software sales in March 2013 across consoles, portables, and PC were up 2 percent, the first month of positive growth since November 2011.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown is truly amazing. I bought it thinking that I'd only play it a couple of times for maybe a few minutes, but this game changed me. I'm not much of a strategy game guy, but XCOM kept me absorbed and really immersed in what was going on. I felt great when I made it through missions without losing some operatives, and felt horrible when some of my oldest veterans fell in battle. I still have 3 people from my very first squad, though one of them died. McIntyre's death was very unexpected, it really shocked me. This game makes you think about what you do, because it can cost you your squads life
It truly is a great game.
Can't wait for the upcoming expansion pack.
