Graphically PC will always be better. Then Ps3, then Xbox and then the WIi!
I might just switch to PC gaming.

********, it depends on which system the game was primarily developed for. Have you never seen a ****** port? Because i assure you theres thousands of them.

When the consoles just came out they had the potential for better graphics than PC, but because PC's continually get upgraded the PC's potential has surpassed the current consoles. That doesnt mean that PC games ALWAYS look better.

Opinion time!

Infamous 1 and 2 were the best games for the PS3 (so far).
It's storyline was one of the best.

Infamous was awesome. By no means was it Shakespeare, the second being above standards for video game stories, but was still riddled with minor plot holes. I think as gamers, we should expect more out of writing for our games as a story telling medium.

I mean, it's possible to have a good story and good gameplay. See also: Bioshock, Half-Life.

I've only played Uncharted 3, but my expereince was that the story line is great, but the game play itself is incredibly repetitive. The entire game can be summed up with; Fight scene, parkour, puzzle, repeat.

Are you kidding me? The story was convoluted, pulling a George Lucas and pulling "fan favorites" left and right just to satisfy stupid fans. The writing was godawful, telling the story through completely through dialogue and choking exposition down like a pill the size of the goddamn matterhorn. It was absolutely bonkers and couldn't be taken seriously. It interrupted gameplay just to shove more bad story down our throat with only, like, five minutes of gameplay. And even then you were getting yelled at by Otocan the whole time. Any writer, whether it be for movies, games, or books, will tell you that that is horrid story telling.

Infamous was not exactly Shakespeare either, but at least it didn't make me wait twenty minutes to watch a goddamn cutscene of characters ************ some nonsensical technobabble back and forth before I got to play.

Honestly, now. Has ANYONE watched Zero Punctuation?

You're damn right the story was convoluted because unlike most other games MGS4 dares to tell a different story, one where not everything is 'black and white' and 'good and bad' because every characters have their own alterior motives, characters are being manipulated and used, and you never know the full story behind anything. It requires the gamer to think and to understand a story not just think, "these are bad guys, if I kill them I win the game" Also your points are incredibly contradictory. You say that too much of the story is explained solely through dialogue but at the same time you criticsize Kojima pulling 'fan favorites.' Well guess what MGS4 is not a stand alone game it is the 6th game in a series and most of the background information happened in the past, and unless you want cheesy flashbacks then you can deal with the dialogue in the cutscenes. Also, the reason there is so much dialogue is because Kojima isn't trying to pull fan favorites, the game seeks a broad audience. There would be no need for dialogue about everything that has happened because Metal Gear Solid fans know it all, the lengthy dialogue is so that other gamers aren't completely lost. And yea there were lenghty cutscenes that cut into game time to tell an AMAZING story that you obviously can not appreciate. The stroyline is specific enough to where what the player chooses to do might not explain the story that well so they use cutscenes instead. And on the contrary Metal Gear solid's story telling has been praised by game magazines, even comparing it to that of a movie. You obviously have no idea what you're talking about and I would stop pretending like you do.

Oh you. I've been a writer for ages. Scripts, mostly. You know nothing about story, character development, plot, and climax. Just because a story is complicated doesn't mean it's good. The story is riddled with plot points that make NO sense whatsoever. It was filled to the brim with cliches and bad story telling.

Not to mention with it's cheapest McGuffin, the Nanomachines, which are supposed to explain everything. Why did all this **** happen? Nanomachines. Everything. Nanomachines.

And how is pulling characters left and right contradictory? They usually come up to explain some ******** that either nobody cares about or to go into a whole bunch of **** that simply doesn't make sense.

I suppose you thought that Metal Gear Solid 2 had good writing as well.

If you want good writing, pick up Bioshock or Half-Life. Not only do those games go in depth with character development, but aren't afraid to use symbolism and rely on the player to put the pieces together instead of explaining everything in twenty minute cutscenes that ruin the whole idea of video games as an interactive story-telling medium. Not to mention, they aren't entirely reliant on McGuffins (except Bioshock, but the whole story is based around that so it's not so much a McGuffin as a plot device) and challenges the player to think instead of sit through it all.

Or are you so unable to stop worshiping your god Hideo Kajima that you can't stand to hear that twenty minutes of exposition is not good story-telling?

Well I'm glad I can half-agree with your statement above. Probably the biggest flaw with the MGS4 story is their reliance on nano-machines as a plot-hole to fix anything that didn't mesh. They relied too much on this loop hole and it ruined the over all integrity of the game. Also MGS2 is easily the worst game in the series, as you pointed out it has incredibly cheesy lines and dialogue. That being said you seem to obsess too much over dialogue, ans I'm guessing it's because that's easiest for you since it's the subject your most knowledgeable on. There is much more to making a good game then what goes into the dialogue. Furthermore, MGS4 story was air-tight and I would like to hear what you call "riddled with plot points that make no sense" because I guarantee there are none. And if anything this game breaks cliches (not to say they don't use 1 or 2 of their own). And finally, I loathe games that try to make heavy use of symbolism, because this is a game not a novel. Not everything in life is symbolic and there should be more media that reflect that. Not to mention MGS actually allows the player to put together pieces of in information about the characters and they're probably the best at it. MGS4 just doesn't refelct this as it is the last game chronologicly and they had to tie up all undisclosed information and give the series an appropriate conclusion.

MGS4 is riddled with symbolism and motifs as well, it's a story telling technique and the best symbols are symbols you don't notice.

And dialogue isn't my specialty- that's just how MGS4 decides to tell it's story. You can't do **** without having a character explain everything to you. And the ridiculous plot points are the plot points that either make no sense or are hard to believe. And seeing how this game loves to break immersion with half-hearted fourth wall breaks and injokes that destroy any hope of me taking it seriously, a lot of it is hard to believe.

It keeps twisting the plot for almost no reason, even when the story is trying to resolute itself. "The government did this! No- my brother did! No- it was the government AND my brother!"

I mean, an eight year old girl programming a computer virus that saves the world and somehow cures Snake, something a computer genius who designed Metal Gear couldn't. A guy lives on through his arm. Some weapon salesman lives with a monkey and just so happens to be in the same place you are at the same time. And it goes through hours and hours to explain all of this ****.

A good game uses its atmosphere to tell part of the story. Like Bioshock. A good story weaves exposition into the plot without having to stop and explain everything every half hour. A good game allows the player to be a part of the story instead of watching it happen. A good story tells a story through action, using dialogue for things it can't otherwise do like character development. A good story can make its themes clear without being preachy. A good story takes advantage of suspended disbelief instead of abusing it. A good game uses gameplay to help tell the story. A good game is a game, not a movie.

MGS4 does none of that.

This seems like a good place to end the argument as you have successfully disproved any credibility you have as you lack any understanding of the game whatsoever. The computer virus was not written by sunny ( the eight year old girl). She simply made some alterations to it, and the computer virus did not cure Snake. In fact Snake is not cured of his accelerating aging. Also, Liquid Snake did not live on through the arm attached to Ocelot, the ending cutscene dismisses that notion by stating that Ocelot went through extensive psychotherapy to convince himself that he was Liquid and even adding in the line "Ocelots like to play" Drebin is also a travelling arms dealer who supplies weapons to PMC's in conflict areas, and Snake has to make his way through these conflict areas so it is only logical that he runs into Drebin at these points. You can only argue against MGS4's story because you don't understand it. Finally, you say you have been a writer for ages even though you're profile states that you are 19. That is quite an accomplishment. I also have ages of writing expereience, from elementary school to high school.

Seeing as how you've both, ignored the rest of my comments and are unable to quite understand what I'm saying.

Snake was supposed to be a biological weapon with foxdie, but then Sunny and what's-her-face went in and fixed it with no issue. The subplot had no real resolution, it was just, "oh you're sick and now you're not."

And Liquid lived on through Ocelot's arm. Remember MGS2? It was a combination of Liquid taking control of Ocelot and Ocelot's own doing. That was simply ridiculous.

And the fact that Drebin just HAPPENS to be in the EXACT SAME AREA all the time makes no sense. The whole world is supposed to be plunged in chaos. He just happens to be there with Snake. Sure there's the whole subplot with the goddamn nano McGuffins, but it's still hard to believe.

I understand it's story, though most people wouldn't. I argue it because it tells its story so badly. It's just plain convoluted.

And yes, I'm nineteen, but I'm also a script writer- you know, like I've told you. I'm a film maker. I've studied story and character development since I was fifteen and have been writing ever since I was nine. I know a lot more about story and writing than you do.

If you want to counter my argument, you might want to look at the whole argument and respond to the whole thing. Even if I did get the story wrong, the story was still rancid and convoluted and told in the worst possible way.

skyward sword (better that oot, umad nostalgia fags?)

its tiltes like these that make a nintendo console worth getting
no one buys an xbox just to play halo or gears, and no one buys ps3 just to play uncharted
by saying the wii sucks, you're just giving a big middle finger to nintendo
(ps with the wii u, you'll have the graphics and the 3rd party support, AND it'll be the developers choice for development)

I won't even touch my opinionn on the above games (although I will say I think Mario Galaxy sucks, nowhere near as good as Mario Sunshine), but just look at that list. How long has the wii been out? And you can only name 9 games to prove how good it is? I can do better than that for the N64 off the top of my head.
Ocarina Of Time
Majoras Mask
Mario 64
Paper Mario
Goldeneye
Diddy Kong Racing
Donkey Kong 64
Kirby 64 (Forget the full name, something to do with crystal shards)
Mario Kart 64
Pokemon Snap
Pokemon Stadium
Mario Golf
Mario Party
Waverace 64

I could go on, but I don't want to sound like a nostalgitard, because I don't hate the wii, I just think after the way it blew up in the begining, it really fell short afterwords. Before the new Kirby game, I hadn't boughten a wii game since Super Paper Mario. The wii, in my opinion, was a failure for Nintendo. They may have gotten motion controls down, but they BARELY provided games to keep us interested. And yes, the 3rd party support does matter, because whats the point of a console if it doesn't have good games? And I'm not some nintendo hater, I grew up on nintendo.

I'm not saying the 360/PS3 are better than the wii, I'm saying the wii is the worst nintendo console yet. Yes, it has all the side stuff like wiiware, but on the core console itself, it really didn't deliver.

Just my 2 cents.

Who cares? If you want graphics, go to PC. If you want online speed, go to PC or 360. If you want innovation, go to PC or Wii.

Me speaking as a stick man of course, I have to say the wii looks the most realistic. Seriously, the other systems don't even look real. Look at those necks! their not even close to normal stickman necks.

Oh, I'm not sure what you're talking about as I am not one of the lucky ones that has played the game haha
The reason I said that was because I've heard that being used repetitively throughout the internet last night as well as today and so I fear it might be the next "it" thing

No, not really, it all depends on the cable to connect the two and the TV you're using

Uuuh, yes Sir, But in most developers and publishers often grub for money and just program games to run the same on both consoles. The PS3's power is hardly ever utilized to full potential because of this. If you compared them together you couldn't tell the difference between them with your naked eye.

Or if you did some research, you would know that multi-platform games run better on xbox. Look it up broski. And thats between 360 and ps3 excluding pc because its always better no matter what game.

Look at the fj red thumb brigade! Nice! Anyways games are optimized for consoles, most multi-platform titles are better optimized for the 360, thus they run better. Get your facts straight before you throw a stupid ******* ign link at me.

Lmao, What better way to get your facts straight than to do research? By Looking through multiple reviews and other articles made by communities, organizations, and companies and then looking through The Specs between the 2 consoles- I came into this flame war with my Facts Straight; Locked and loaded.

you cant compare systems based on multi-platform multi-platforms will never use each system to their full potential because they aren't as optimized

I cant even try to disagree with this. Imean nintendo graphics are only good for nintendo games ie: the mario franchise or twilight princess. Games that are designed for consoles like 360 should stay away from nintendo. I realized this after playing force unleashed on the wii, then 360.
