sixfootfive (02/27/2012) [-] She's a character from My Little Pony (you know, that show that can cause 5 million shitstorms at once just from mentioning it) that was given her name by the fans of the show when an animation glitch caused her eyes to face in opposite directions (as shown here).
She was a background character for a long time but in a recent episode, there was a scene when her name was mentioned by one of the main characters and the two of them actually speak to each other.
But recently, this scene was edited so that the name was removed, and her voice was changed. Apparently someone somewhere found the original scene offensive.

Needless to say, most of us are outraged and have sent numerous petitions and emails to Hasbro to have the original scene restored.

She makes me giggle, like Cheese did from Fosters Home For Imaginary Friends.
If anything I suppose the raise the awareness of mental disabilities and I think it provides comfort to those with mental disorders. It's sorta giving a message that says. "Even though you may be different, doesn't mean you can't live life to the fullest."
But now dumbass soccer moms say it's offensive. Probably don't even have a child with a disorder, and if ever was face to face with a child like that. She'd be judgmental and then ask them to control their kid. Like they do to my mom. (I also have a low functioning sister with autism)

I'v worked along side dozens of autistic people (I myself am high functioning autistic), and cheese more closely represented THEM than derpy, and it was especially offensive with how they regarded cheese, how he was just a nuisance and such.
I just saw derpy as a lovable, clumsy mare, I just absolutely adore her.
