i'm not trying to start a religious debate, but if atheists (and Christians alike) actually studied and not just read the Bible they would be blown away. It's filled with literary structures, refrains and thematic pillars. If anyone realized that, they would have to conclude that the writers of the Bible were either a. All geniuses or b. It's true. It is honestly mindblowing when you break it down with respect instead of treating it like a children's book. To quote C.S. Lewis, "if one cannot understand a book written for adults, they should probably not comment on it".

I'm going to explain the argument between atheists and Christians in a few simple words now!
There are two groups with two different beliefs
There are two types of people in each of the two groups
There is tards in both groups that can't seem to accept the fact that other people have a different belief
Then there are people that just sit on the side lines and laugh their ass off at the entire argument
Then there is the third group of people who plain just don't give a shit and came here for amusement... Which group are you?
Tl;DR version: Read my post you lazy ass
I patiently await your shitstorm of red pinkies now

SIGH... I wish there were more open minded people who just accepted people's beliefs... I'm a christian who believes in God, but I also believe in science. WOW CRAZY I know.

It seems I need to make a clarification on behalf of the atheistic community:
Most of us don't want to purge the world of religion because (a) it's impossible to systemically change the wills of the majority of humanity in any tangible manner and (b) it's morally wrong to socially engineer human populations in such a fashion.
All we want is to keep dogma as far away from national systems of governance and education, that's it.
Let kids decide for themselves what belief system suits then best and don't try to integrate it into their minds via the supposedly objective and secular education system. Keep political governance within the realm of realistic factors and norms and steer clear of using mere hypotheses to guide nation spanning, society changing political policy.
We are not here to persecute you people, we just want an environment where tangibility, objectivity and practicality can flourish in the fields of governance, science and education. Calm the fuck down.

I've always viewed faith like Schrodinger's cat, we have no scientific way to prove whether the cat is alive or not, so we can chose to think the cat is one or the other and believe that without any evidence.

Not all atheist shove atheism down other peoples throat the same way not all religious people shove religion down other people's throat. Hell, it's not even CLOSE to the majority of atheists who do that. For either side, it happens to be the more aggressive and militant believers that start flame wars and duke it out in discussions and shit. I personally don't give a fuck what you believe in as long as you don't try to affect my life personally because of either what I believe or what you believe. Religion is right for some people but not for others and that's how it should be. But unfortunately, religion, especially Christianity in America is very relevant for the reason that it's a major part of our politics. I honestly think that this is one of the biggest reasons why these stupid fucking flamewars start 90% of the time, whether people realize it or not. Well, at least Christianity in politics is the reason why Christianity in particular is so hotly discussed. But all in all, people should discuss this shit only when necessary, such as the constitutionality of prayer in school. Fuck the atheists that try to shove atheism down other peoples throats but fuck the religious people that try to shove their religion down my throat- I once went to Brazil to volunteer, but when the other volunteers found out I was an atheist, they try to force me to pray for dinner and reprimanded my lack of believe (or beliefs, idk). That is the shit that needs to stop
Being Atheist is having a lack of belief of god, not hating christians.
Fucking atheists... Stop starting religious debates. If you hate them so much why do you love starting shit?

Got to admit the Bible ha some bitching verses.

Today i was talking to my Dad about religion. He grew up going to a Catholic school, and was very religious, but has lightened up since me and my sister were born and he has been preoccupied with the family. I, as a child, never really went to church. My sister and i are both Lutheran, still Christian but a lot less strict I guess you could say. Well my sister and my father got in an argument because she believed that there was a Jesus, but that he never rose from the dead. I have similar views since i think more realistically than anyone in my family, but i kept to myself. My dad's only rebuttal to her my sister was this:
"You not believing in God makes me very disappointed. If that is how you feel then I will never get to see you in the afterlife."
And this got me thinking... i love my father very much, and what if there is an afterlife and i could spend all the time i wanted with him? But i was never religious, and i still find religion very difficult to believe in. And what if he makes it into "Heaven" and he is just waiting for his family to show up... and they never do. I don't care if this gets pinkieed down, but it really made me think.
