The problem with this is that athiests actually study the bible, and prepare to fight where as most christians just get saved and then never even look at the bible. I feel as though I know quite a bit of the bible and could defend my viewpoints, though i don't have to. It's my choice to believe, not yours. I won't shove my views down your throat, though i do want you to change your mind. In the end what the extremists, in both corners(athiests and christians), do is push people away from their ideas. I like to think that if you just live, be happy, and inspire people, they will see your different and hopefully say hey, i want to know what you have thats different. Regardless, pushing it in their face and saying do this or your stupid doesn't help anything.

According to many, I am an idiot for believing in God. Oh well, at least I am happy. That is all that will really matter in the end. Did you live a happy life, or a sad life? If Atheism makes you happy, keeping Atheing on, if Christianity make you happy keep Christin on. Same goes for everything else. But I guarantee you, if you are the type who deliberately insults other religions openly to people(without a shred of decency of saying it in private), you are not happy and you might want to rethink your views.

You know what? I'm ******* tired of being so damned respectful of all religions/beliefs (particularly Atheism), despite the fact that they act like I'm mentally retarded the moment I casually mention the fact that I am a Christian.
I have never forced my views down anyone's throat, I do not believe all scientists are going to hell, I do not disbelieve in scientific evidence when it comes to the way our universe was formed (it never says the way God created our universe, only that he created it, thus I believe in the big bang), I do not think homosexuals are vile, evil beings, I don't think if someone sins they're automatically going to hell (being that I believe that Jesus died for our sins), and so forth.
And why is it that Atheists always make me feel like a mindless sheep when I admit that I believe in God? I chose my religion on my own, after researching other religions and beliefs.
And since it is apparently perfectly fine to make fun of me just because of my religion, I think it is insanely arrogant of anyone to think that anything beyond their comprehension could not possibly exist.
Our universe is huge and bizarre; our petty "laws" can and have been broken by things that we have proof of. Not only that, but we have explored very little of our own galaxy, which is in turn small compared to the billions and billions of other galaxies in our universe, so who knows what else could be out there? Who knows what is possible? We may be the smartest beings on our own tiny planet, but we will never understand the way EVERYTHING works, including the entire universe, the way God works, and so forth.
We are not all-knowing, we are just human beings. I mean, we ****** each other over who gets to stick their dick in another human or who has the most pieces of green paper, which is used to buy things we don't even remotely need. We are ridiculous and illogical, Atheists included.
And so, why should we decide what is too "weird" or "stupid" to be true?

i'm not trying to start a religious debate, but if atheists (and Christians alike) actually studied and not just read the Bible they would be blown away. It's filled with literary structures, refrains and thematic pillars. If anyone realized that, they would have to conclude that the writers of the Bible were either a. All geniuses or b. It's true. It is honestly mindblowing when you break it down with respect instead of treating it like a children's book. To quote C.S. Lewis, "if one cannot understand a book written for adults, they should probably not comment on it".

There's nothing wrong with religion, and nothing wrong with atheism. People should just believe what they want to believe, and it's not noble to force your beliefs on someone else. Unless they're making a mistake in their lives due to some lack of scientific knowledge.

Most or all atheists (Everyone that I know of at least) barely know what the bible says. Sadly, most christians barely know what the bible says as well.

Being Atheist is having a lack of belief of god, not hating christians.

Today i was talking to my Dad about religion. He grew up going to a Catholic school, and was very religious, but has lightened up since me and my sister were born and he has been preoccupied with the family. I, as a child, never really went to church. My sister and i are both Lutheran, still Christian but a lot less strict I guess you could say. Well my sister and my father got in an argument because she believed that there was a Jesus, but that he never rose from the dead. I have similar views since i think more realistically than anyone in my family, but i kept to myself. My dad's only rebuttal to her my sister was this:

"You not believing in God makes me very disappointed. If that is how you feel then I will never get to see you in the afterlife."

And this got me thinking... i love my father very much, and what if there is an afterlife and i could spend all the time i wanted with him? But i was never religious, and i still find religion very difficult to believe in. And what if he makes it into "Heaven" and he is just waiting for his family to show up... and they never do. I don't care if this gets pinkieed down, but it really made me think.
