This face? It's me when I laugh. I don't think about religion and its moral implications when I'm laughing. Now, I'm an atheist - don't get me wrong, I find religious jokes very funny. We are all intelligent people and we like to discuss these things. But ****, I've seen what intelligence does over the years, it sometimes, in the less wise - breeds pride, naivety, and this sense of superiority.

Laughter and happiness should bring us together, it should make us feel happy and together as one species under the common goal of HUMOR. Religious people, don't scriptures teach you to be kind, benevolent, understanding, and calm-minded. Atheists, doesn't knowledge and maturity call for a calm voice and logical approach to HUMAN EMOTIONS as well?

Thank you but I'm just tired of these pointless arguments. How can you convince an Atheist to abandon logic, science, and the method of operations, method of maturity and skepticism? How can you convince a religious person that everything that makes them feel happy and true and meaningful is wrong and just childish crap? On a thread nonetheless! It leaves people with red pinkies and anger and fury and sometimes just plain unhappiness. Religious debates are okay, but there is a time and place and way to conduct them. Now, here, and how it's going on now is NOT the way it should be.

They aren't atheists, they're just douche bags who think they're superior than the Christians because they joined the mainstream of hating Christians. I, for one, am atheist and respect everyone's religion(as long as it is not forced down upon me in ignorance)and know their reasons for choosing said religion and respect that. Just remember, there's a difference between douches and atheists :)

The problem with this is that athiests actually study the bible, and prepare to fight where as most christians just get saved and then never even look at the bible. I feel as though I know quite a bit of the bible and could defend my viewpoints, though i don't have to. It's my choice to believe, not yours. I won't shove my views down your throat, though i do want you to change your mind. In the end what the extremists, in both corners(athiests and christians), do is push people away from their ideas. I like to think that if you just live, be happy, and inspire people, they will see your different and hopefully say hey, i want to know what you have thats different. Regardless, pushing it in their face and saying do this or your stupid doesn't help anything.

Well to be honest, that actually just highlights the very basic arguments from both sides and then slightly abstracts them in a comical way. And to be fair, both sides of the issue have good points, bad points, and loopholes that can only be explained as... "because I said so."

There's nothing wrong with religion, and nothing wrong with atheism. People should just believe what they want to believe, and it's not noble to force your beliefs on someone else. Unless they're making a mistake in their lives due to some lack of scientific knowledge.

I've always viewed faith like Schrodinger's cat, we have no scientific way to prove whether the cat is alive or not, so we can chose to think the cat is one or the other and believe that without any evidence.

You don't understand Mr. Agnostic.

It takes time. You can't assume that we can't prove God doesn't exist when we just reached a technological age. It's not like we have the full understanding of the universe in 2012, that's retard talk.

Now go eat a bag of dicks.

I don't think that science can prove or disprove the existence of a supposedly supernatural being. You say we have reached a technological age but I'm not aware of any advancement that we've made that can say for sure whether God exists or not.

I'm sorry that I seem to be frustrating you, but I just can't imagine there ever being any form of technology that can truly say that God is real or not. Is there even any line of science that could measure the supernatural? The definition of supernatural is relating to existence beyond the observable universe. So if something can't be observed, how could it be determined if it is real or not, no matter how advanced our technology?

Where in that statement did I say to govern nations on religion? I think politics and religion should be separate. What I meant in my previous statement was that we can't prove that a higher power exists, nor that one doesn't exist

Some religions its hard to separate the two, church and state I mean. I am a Muslim and for us politics is in our religion (actually a good majority of the Qur'an speaks of business ethics and accounting along with general ethics.) I can't imagine *at least to my faith how you could separate the two?

Probably because many atheiests' arguements are based on "well they don't have proof in a god so they're blindly following something" while athiests also have no proof that a god doesn't exist so it is as much blind faith as a religion.
