What a stupid ******* piece of ****. Yes, there's a chance that many of the stars you see in the night sky are already gone, but not all of them. A great amount of them are still alive.

******* dickfaced idiot, trying to sound wise and smart and ****.

Because, anons can say anything without any lasting negative repercussions. So half the time it's people with accounts that know they're incapable of making an agreeable comment.

Erm, he's wrong you know. Starshots are meteorites entering our atmosphere, end burning up in the prosses.

it takes 8 minutes for the light from our sun to reach our planet. So if it were to darken or stop showing light (without blowing up) and assuming we'de wouldnt freeze to death instintaniously, we'de find out it stoped radiating light 8 minutes ago. if it were to play up we woud find out about it half a second later.

Well, this is only very basic...
1. If the sun was removed... How stars are usually removed the explosion would kill us faster than we could even realise anything was wrong.
2. If the sun simply stopped existing (hypothetically...) then we would feel the shift in gravity somehow, we'd all fell weird though I'm not sure if there would be any damage until we crashed into something/got far enough away to freeze...
3. Technically we would take 8m 19s to freeze because it would take that long for the sun's light to stop hitting us, since all the heat from the sun comes from the light (most, some comes on solar winds I guess).
And the list goes on, I'm sure there are even more problems if we include more advanced sciences, I don't think we could really say exactly what would happen unless we experienced it first hand, the Sun is so vital to us in more ways then we know... The immediate outcome would be unpredictable.

we don't have to ASSUME that we won't freeze to death instantaneously because we don't... or I don't know.. do you freeze to death at night? o.o

no, but its like ths without the suns ligh we have NO heat source, the entire planet would drop to temperatures unsurvivable. so yes we would im not sure how could we would be but it would be at around -200 Fahrenheit i believe.

again, how does the sun then heat us at night? not saying that we'd survive this imaginary "blackout" of the sun what we are now inventing, but for a while we would.. like a day or two

and besides, it's polar night (the sun doesn't rise for 2 months) now where I'm at and we survive it year after year.

Err... think of it like this. you have a sheet of paper and poot a light bulb on the other sdie and turn it on, the side facing the builb is hot when you put your hand on it right? so is the other side, although the Earth isnt as thin as paper, the suns rays are that powerful. atleast thats how i assume it goes, im not a scientist.

You would die a few minutes later without the sun. Because even when it's night where you are, in somewhere on the planet the sun's light is still around.

In other words, the heat goes around the globe.

You didnt sound like an asshole, considering all you did was capitalize an entire word, but i suppose you couldnt have known how i would've reacted. Also dont you have to look at a star to wish on it? bet you cant find sun-glasses thick enough for that. so HAH.

Actually I don't know why but sometimes I am able to look directly at the sun without sunglasses, (I know I shouldn't) I don't do it often because I don't want to lose my eyesite, i've only done it like 2-3 times, but I don't wish upon stars anyway. so HAH. :D

The trillions of cells in the black par of your eyes can heal just like any other part of your body, but they burn, as if you stuck our hand in fire, and you know how your body cant heal burns very well. so yeah, wishing on stars is pointless anyways.
