Not bad, point out 4 flaws in our government, and I'll admit that Europe is better.
User avatar #1820 to #1723 - reaganomix (11/29/2011) [-]
Only four?

1) The Federal Reserve is continuously increasing inflation as they continue to make money out of thin air.

2) Our government subsidized education system is horrible. Students do not gain the education they need to be successful. Have you looked at our standardized test scores the past couple of years?

3) Our foreign policy is flawed and we are going broke because of it. Why do we need to send troops to Australia? How are we funding these military actions and how come no one is saying anything about it.

4) Patriot act removing our civil liberties and everything America was brought up on.

5) Congress is a mess. No one wants to compromise.

6) Apparently as Americans, we get out of debt by spending more money. (J/K it's a flawed policy)

7) Special interest groups run rampant throughout our government. Why do Israeli lobbyist have such clout in our government when they aren't even a part of it. We spend OUR TAX DOLLARS to defend Israel but they are easily able to fend for themselves

It didn't make this list to claim Europe was better because I'm an American. I want this country to get better. But people in our country are ignorant to the troubles we are facing. Do some research and stop being patriotic zealots for no good reason

/end rant

Give me time to respond you ****** .
User avatar #2076 to #1843 - sneakyapache (11/29/2011) [-]
Okay, so

1.)Our economy is the largest in the entire world, and just because Americas currency inflates, doesn't mean that we are the only ones. China is doing terrible, the euro is failing, and all other currencies are not even worth considering. It's not just us who is having trouble with money.
2.)Our education may not be stellar, in fact its disappointing, however students in america still have way more opportunities then students in other countries. That is why there are so many international students coming to america, and hardly any american students going to international schools permanently.
3.) We have to be the policemen of the globe, because no one else will. As the strongest military in the world, why are you surprised that we have troops in Australia? They have troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, and so do most other countries in the world. Spending overseas is a known problem and most Americans are speaking out about it, and that's why it IS being changed, do research please.
4.) The patriot act was done in wartime for YOUR benefit, it's not like bush was listening to your conversations. They just peeped on people who were suspicious. And now the patriot act is down to its bones, and does nothing to harm you, so don't bitch.
5.) Its always been like that, and the rest of the worlds governments aren't any better... It's called politics and there are several sides to congress just like their are to an argument.
6.) Are you retarted? We get out of debt by making extensive and massive cuts, which is what we are currently doing.
7.) We allow other countries to have parts in our policies because we aren't some closed off country. Plus, anyone could create a special interest group, it only gets powerful if it has a lot of following and support, and since Israel has always been our friend, why is it so bad to let them have a word in our government?

It's not as bad as you say.
If you don't like it, please leave.
User avatar #2150 to #2076 - reaganomix (11/29/2011) [-]
1) Yes but you need to realize that if we continue the trend of allowing the Federal Reserve come up with money out of no where we are going to be digging ourselves into a ditch. Just because every other country is doing bad doesn't mean we can continuously devalue our money.

2) So we settle for disappointing? Our education is horrible and there is no escaping that. In New York the government spends 10,000 dollars per child and test scores are going down. There is something wrong about this. Besides, I was referring to public education not colleges or universities. Even then students are graduating from college with trillions of dollars in debt. That's not right.

3) Why do we need to spend money overseas when we have people starving in OUR NATION that could use that money more. Have YOU looked into our foreign policy. Getting out of one nation after nation building and going into another does not constitute reducing overseas spending.

4) A great man named Ben Franklin once said "Those who sacrifice liberty for security deserve neither." If we allow our nation to infringe on our basic rights, what stops them from continuing the trend? Also how can you declare war on a political tactic?

5) Maybe you should see our congress now because it's not the same as it was a couple of years ago. Filibuster after filibuster, nothing is getting done. Having two political parties that aren't willing to compromise does not justify good politics.

6) Yes make extensive cuts AFTER we spend ourselves into more debt. Stimulus package "creates" more jobs, people can now pay taxes, repay debt. Obviously it will work, right?

7) Our friend that we didn't know had the third largest nuclear arsenal supply in the world. What a good friend. We are only serving their interest and not getting any return. This is a country for the people, by the people. Not for others to have a say in our government, but for us be in control.
#2172 to #2124 - reaganomix (11/29/2011) [-]
Remember that quote where George Washington said to be wary of foreign alliances? NOPE neither do I. Why do we have a constitution if no one is willing to adhere to what it says. Why did we separate from England? Because we didn't have a say in government you say? (Lots of sarcasm used here)

I don't want to leave this country, I love this country, but I would love it more if people would wake up and realize that what has been happening is working against us. This is America.

And notice how I didn't thumb you down because I respect your opinion and would like to contribute my own. But you act like a self-righteous asshole. Now kiss and make up

That's fair enough. I'm English, but I would like to live in America for a few years just for some general life experience and to have a laugh. I'm glad you weren't all butthurt about that comment, some American people can't seem to accept that there's an extremely high chance of their ascendants being European.

I know that, but it's more comparable to a country than a continent is. What I'm saying is Europe is not just a continent, the EU is like a country in that it has its own legislative body, its own currency, and a unified economy.
