We have rednecks that marry their relatives. People fucking outside of their species for entertainment. We waste resources like we have an endless supply. We kill anyone that says we should all get along. We're more worried about stockpiling massive weapons to keep everyone else in check rather than attempting to make life better for everyone. Our morale compass is more fucked than a pornstar in a 10 man gang bang.
I'm sure the universe is excited about meeting us.

by the laws of nature, there are no laws. If inbreeding helps perpetuate the species, then so be it, by nature's standards. If we are still alive, then we have earned it. Also, the secret for countries to stop fighting is not flowers, or protests, or speeches. It's commerce. Money needs to be flowing. Sounds greedy, but think about it like a symbiotic relationship between two animals.

You're right about there being no laws and inbreeding perpetuating the species but that doesn't make it less disgusting. You can drink piss and eat shit to survive in extreme conditions a bit longer than without doing so but that doesn't make it easier to do or less disgusting.

It's not exactly a viewpoint as it is more of an opinion on how someone would view meeting humans for the first time and learning about them. It's just my opinion that despite all the good things or great accomplishments, i don't think aliens would be excited to meet us.

I realize it is a phase of "humanity is going to kill us all" but that wasn't my point at all.
My point was someone wouldn't be excited to meet this planet's worth of people despite all the good we've done as a whole, the evil is just as heavy if it doesn't outweigh it. It's similar to say if Africa was war torn and ravaged with disease, completely desolate and resources diminishing. The people that inhabit there kill many of their own all the time, do rather disgusting things to entertain themselves and are at a low maturity level as a whole. Would you be excited to visit Africa?

Also implying that the aliens aren't just outright coming to wipe us out
Also implying that the aliens aren't on a specific peace mission regardless of our accomplishments or lack thereof
Also implying that the aliens have any thought processes that revolve around emotion.
My opinion has implications in it and you can dissect it however you feel but it's just my opinion

I don't have a bad opinion about humanity just about what an outsider would view on us. I'll give the article a read and let you know what I think of it, right now I need to go find some food.
Sidenote though, after glancing at it. I'm not religious so it might not have any effect on me if it is highly religious in nature.

Well thanks for the read and also for the discussion. Nice little back and forth with effective use on your part, think the other person was just going for the typical internet banter. I'll be reading it when I get back from this food run. Good day to you for now sir
Don't worry, by the year 2100 there will be less than 15 countries that will be considered undeveloped, we may finally have the utopia you've been longing for. Take the H.D.I. of a country such as "Chile" Which had an HDI of 630 in 1980 which is comparable to Sri Lanka, now in 2010 their HDI is 805 which is comparable to a country such as Hungary.
